After never receiving a tracking number or hearing back from customer support and a totally janky order confirmation email (for a company that sells robots, your email and website UI is terrible), I was kind of expecting a bad experience with my Roomba. I've had it over a week and run it everyday and it still manages to come back with a full bin. I have a dog and a cat and it cleans up their hair SOO nicely. I usually have to bring it back to the charger bc I think it gets lost. But, oh well. It keeps my floors/feet clean and it's one less thing for me to do. If you have pets, I HIGHLY recommend this machine. Before using, I'd give your place a once over with a regular broom just to get most of the stuff so it won't overfill too quickly. You'll be surprised what it picks up!

About This Item
Love love love my Roomba I Series!
Great for cleaning up after pets, including kitty litter, sand and pet hair. Requires minimal maintenance, especially compared to time saved in manually vacuuming house.
Buying these only to have them on hand
TL:DR-- This is a LIFESAVER for households with bare floors and heavy shedders. Our Roomba has made it so that the fur situation is under control. Even when I would vacuum or use our microfiber sweeper every day, it didn't do remotely as good of a job as Roomba does. About our household: We have an e-series Roomba. We have hardwood and vinyl plank floors with area rugs on them and our house is an...interesting...shape. We also have two dogs, one of which is a VERY heavy shedder (aka even when I would sweep/vacuum every day, we'd get little tumbleweeds of fur). This challenges Roomba's cleaning algorithms to the max. I've scheduled it to run every weekday. On the weekend, I try to run our Shark vacuum over the rugs and to get in places Roomba can't (like under our couches or coffee table). Initially, I wanted to get one of the more advanced Roombas that maps the house, simply because our house is SUCH a weird shape. How Roomba fares in our house: Despite the awkward shape of our house, it always docks having cleared the floor of fur and dirt. It transitions well from hard floors to low pile rugs (we have no high pile rugs). However, due to the sheer volume of fur in our house, I do have to vacuum the rugs once a week with our Shark upright. If I don't, there isn't any loose fur but it does get the opportunity to get intertwined with the fibers on the rugs. Again, if not for the sheer amount of fur in our house, the dirt cup would be generously sized. As it is, during the hour and a half that Roomba usually runs, I empty the cup two to three times. If I forget to empty during the run, it still gets all the fur. Every two to three runs, I clean the fur out of the rollers, which show negligible wear after two months of use.
I can use regular v as com and then run Fred and he g e.g ts more dirt up. Since I have Fred I have less dust in my home. I love Fred.
Saves me time and effort
I have enjoyed this vacuuming robot since we received it for Christmas. It saves time as I can do other tasks/chores while it is cleaning. I was pleasantly surprised that it can work on the uneven natural slate surfaces. With five dogs, it does a remarkable job picking up the hair, even in corners. Occasionally, it will leave clumps of hair, but I just pick those up. With dogs, be sure to set the robot to keep cleaning even when the bin senses it is full or you will be emptying it many times before the job is done. You will need to get new rollers when the cleaning performance becomes unacceptable, as they become harder over time. I LOVE the smart maps. You can divide a large space into separate rooms and just clean the desired rooms. You no longer need the beacons that prevent the robot from cleaning a certain area, such as the dog's water bowl. The smart maps allow drawing "keep out" zones and they work exceptionally well, especially if you have a piece of furniture that the robot continually gets stuck under. You may need to tweak them a bit, because it is difficult to get the size and placement exactly right the first time. I would like to see a perimeter mode to clean where most of the dog hair gathers. Is the robot better than my Sebo vacuum? No, but it is close and saves me time.
Love My Roomba But!!
I use my Roomba everyday. Having a large dog equals lots of shedding. I have to empty the Debris bin often it is usually mostly FULL of dog hair . I have had to replace the brushes. They broke off 1st day I owned the Roomba. Due to I think not very good design of rollers. They hair, thread, string anything gets wound around the roller and then they rip. I need to replace both of them now to. Which these things are expensive. I think both the brushes and rollers have design flaws. But even with these problems the Roomba is still a good household product. Which does a good job.
Fred the rumba
I clean a room put rumba in there and let it vac the room . I clean my floor with my vacumn cleaner . Put rumba in and cant believe the dirt it picks up .
Not durable enough.
I love that the brush is rubber and I don't need to clean between bristles wich I such a pain. However these are so poorly made. They should not rip inside of a month from a few strands of hair. If your going to charge such a high price for these then please make them with better quality materials. Thanks.
Within 8 weeks, I'm having to replace the rubber brushes, which is an added expense to an already expensive item. Since they're so fragile, an additional set should be included with the original purchase, with a warning on top of the vacuum that stray strings will damage brushes, requiring replacement.
1 month review
Be extremely careful if human hair gets picked up, a couple strands and started wrapping on the wheel and it burned through rubber. I now only will be using this in the dog room.
