    It's Turly Smarter

Having the ecobee3 for about a month now, I have no complaints. Within a week of use there was definitely a difference in comfort throughout my home. There was no more leaving cold to hot or vice versa when going up and down the stairs. This the main reason why we chose the ecobee3, the remote sensors. It truly gives it the title of the smarter thermostat and isn't a gimmick. The remote access and control is already a feature that is enough to pay this much for the ecobee3. It's always responsive and easy to navigate the interface. I also have Apple products with HomeKit as well as the Amazon Echo and they both work simultaneously to control the ecobee3 which makes the ability to control this thing a breeze where ever you are. Overall, it has been a great investment and to me, and looks better on the wall than the Nest. I have read where people have stated the touchscreen sometimes gave them issues, but I have not ran into any such issues with mine. I cant't wait for more remote sensors!

    Best Thermostat!

I did a lot of research before purchasing the Ecobee3. The idea was to save money and have more control of my settings. Ecobee3 did not disappoint. It was easy to set up, so easy, I called the help line because I thought I missed a step. They were and are very helpful whenever I have had to call. It is HomeKit enabled and that too was one of the features I was looking for. I am retired, but the ability to have it password protected, so that no one (kids) can change my settings. I purchased extra sensors for all my rooms so I could maximize the features, but they are not really needed. My electric bill before the install of the Ecobee3 was $250. It dropped $100 the first month and as I adjusted my schedules it has continued to drop. My bill has not gone above $120 since. We are extremely happy with our Ecobee3 and it has already paid for itself.

    Best thermostat on the market

Like many others, I was initially on the market for a Nest thermostat. After reading reviews and watching videos, I concluded ecobee3 was a far better product with its multiple room sensor feature. I have been using it since October and have added sensors throughout my house. Installation is easy IF you have a C wire that supplies power to your thermostat. Otherwise, you have to connect a device (included with the thermostat) that you have to attach to the furnace. In January, I had an issue with the thermostat turning off by itself and ecobee promptly replaced the unit for me at no additional charge. Upon replacing the unit, I discovered the defect was in the installation of the device at the furnace. My father-in-law damaged the housing for the device and had patched it up with electrical tape which inhibited the connectors in the housing unit. Since replacing all the parts, thermostat included, I've had no issues to date. My favourite feature is the voice control via Siri. I can make the house 2.5 degrees cooler from work if I wanted to but now I hardly make changes since setting my schedule. The thermostat senses when I am home or away, only heats the rooms that are occupied, makes the house 2 degrees cooler while I sleep and shuts off when I go away on vacation. If I forget to schedule a vacation, I can turn it off from anywhere I have internet connection with my phone. After buying the ecobee3 thermostat, I was hooked on HomeKit enabled devices. My second purchase was the Lutron Caséta home kit. Now I can control the lights in my house with voice commands. How cool is that?! I've also got the Schlage Sense deadbolt which allows me to lock/unlock my door with voice commands too. Still waiting on a HomeKit enabled garage door opener so I can say, "Open the pod bay door, Hal."

    Intelligent product

I purchased an Ecobee3 a few weeks ago and have been extremely happy with the system. Setup took about an hour (had extra wiring at my furnace but called and was walked-through what to do by customer service). Gives you the power to see/change/plan for your HVAC from your phone and very much looking forward to being able to chart system usage and efficiency as I make improvements to insulation/AC timing/etc... Looked around and think this is simply the best product available in this category...

    Great Smart Thermostat!

When I was in the market for a smart thermostat, the Ecobee3 topped the list. The app does a great job helping you to install it, with helpful videos for each step. The thermostat was a breeze to pair and setup, and best of all "it just works"! I love that you can have multiple sensors throughout the house and that it intelligently determines the setpoint based on them. The Smart Home/Away feature is great because you can set a schedule and not have to worry about adjusting it because if you are set to away and happen to be home it will recognize that and keep your "Home" comfort settings active. I like how it is compatible with Alexa, IFTTT and SmartThings, though admittedly I haven't had to make use of that because it does a good enough job on it's own!

The best smart thermostat on the market!

I shopped around for a long time looking for the perfect smart thermostat. A friend recommended Ecobee as they had had an excellent experience with theirs. I started researching all of the different features and was blown away by the endless number of intelligent features the Ecobee offered. My favorites are: Follow Me which is extremely accurate, Smart Away which has saved us a significant amount of money in the short time I've had the Ecobee, the Energy Reports provide a great deal of insight into your energy usage you couldn't have imagined, and the PEK makes installation super easy! I really wish I had purchased this thermostat a long time ago thinking about all the money I could have saved. It virtually pays for itself.

    You Should Own An ecobee

I waited patiently, for a long time, for the right Smart Thermostat. The earliest ones were not able to control Heat Pumps. More recently, Heat Pump control features have been added to numerous Manufacture’s Thermostat lineups. I chose the ecobee3 because; I received a $100 rebate from my local power company, it was a Black Friday Sale and I received two extra Remote Sensors at no additional cost, it is Canadian made, it had Apple HomeKit connectivity, it had Remote Sensors, and the list goes on. Installation, setup, and operation was and is simple and straightforward. I recommend this product.

    Much better than NEST

I bought a NEST thermostat originally but didn't like the "Learn"-ing aspect of it. For instance, if my wife bumps the temperature up one day it doesn't necessarily mean that I want the NEST to learn and set that temperature in a future state - it should just be a temporary setting in my mind. In general I want programmed modes that can be changed which is what the Ecobee offers via its Comfort Settings. The Ecobee is very easy to use. I have the app installed on multiple devices and can change the temperature even while away from home. The ability to use temperature sensors that can be installed in other rooms is also very handy (the Ecobee comes with an extra sensor in the package). I have a sensor installed in my office where it gets a few degrees colder in the winter. The Ecobee averages the temperature across all sensors and bases it on whether or not the room is occupied. Home automation is easy to accomplish with the Ecobee as well. I'm using Home Assistant to set the Ecobee to 'Away' mode when we leave the house. In summary, while the NEST looks great but was not a great fit. We love the Ecobee in our house and are looking to purchase a second one for the downstairs.

Seriously the best thermostat you can buy!

What a huge difference with this thermostat! We had a programmable thermostat but it would let things get too cold/hot before adjusting. The remote sensor has made a HUGE difference in comfort levels. Great product and it ties into our Amazon Dot :)

    Hands down the best !

By far the best. Multiple sensors take readings from more then one area in the house. Whole house temp control with follow me mode. Can add more sensors if need be.
