Lifesaver
I always make my own detergent using the pink Zote bars however my food processor I used to grate the soap broke so I was looking for the flakes as they are already dried and small. Found these ordered a bunch online my daughter picked them up the same day and for some reason the price had changed so they gave me a refund!!! I never used the white Zote but our clothes are cleaner and although I still use my Ninja to turn the flakes to powder it saves me a lot of work. Win win!!!!
Most helpful negative review
Not useful as a hand or laundry soap
Felt as ineffective as glycerin soap. Not useful as a hand or laundry soap, even when with used with other laundry soaps on the shelves (Purex Fels-Naptha). In disbelief that it's sold.

Great laundry soap

I make my own Laundry soap with 1 box of zote soap and one box of super washing soda. I use 1 Tbsp per load. If the clothes are really dirty I use 1Tbsp of generic oxygen cleaner from the dollar store. I had a problem with mold growing in the hose in my wash machine and found out that an ingredient in liquid causes mold, so I did a lot of research on the best ingredients to make my own dry laundry soap.

Great Product

Worth the extra $ having the flakes already shaven; saves time and effort. The smell is strong in the box, but once the clothes have been laundered, the smell is virtually gone. I sorta miss the smell bc it is nice, but at any rate, it's gone. Clothes come out so clean, plus my HE washer has never been cleaner. I do not want to use liquid laundry detergent again! I love using this to make my own laundry detergent!

Zote Laundry Soap Flakes

I use the Zote product as one of the ingredients used to make my own laundry soap. It beats having to grate a bar of Zote soap. Making my own detergent is one of the best ways to make my clothes and linens last longer and help Nature along the way.

awesome

efficient for making homemade laundry detergent. 1 cup flakes, 1 cup borax, 1 cup super washing soda. mix and store in glass container. 1-3 tbls depending on load size.

1. The Laundry Flakes box says "Not recommended for high-efficiency machines". I don't know why not because it's low suds. Perhaps, it's the dissolution of the flakes that is uncertain; thus, requiring a "liquid" ZOTE to be prepared for use in the HE washer's dispenser. But, that's only a guess on my part.

2. Yes, it would be safe to use in your top load HE washer. You might want to try dissolving it in warm water before adding it to your washer to ensure that it is completely dissolved, but probably not necessary.

3. yes it can

4. You need Powdered Borax, washing Soda, and some form of oxygen boost such as Ocyclean or Biz. Equal parts.

1. The ZOTES Laundry Flakes box is 17.6 oz (500 g). The box illustrates 2 bars = 1 box of flakes. But, the bars at my local Walmart are 14.1 oz (400 g). So, 1 bar($0.97) = 1 box($2.54). The flakes are very thin & dissolve very quickly in wash water. For me, the time-saving convenience of the flakes is worth the cost.

2. One bar of Zote soap is actually 14.1 ounces, this box is 17.6 ounces, so it's 3 ounces over one bar of soap. There should only be a need to use one box of these flakes instead of one bar to shred up.

3. It says on the package, I don't recall exactly, but I know I use 1 and a half boxes for my laundry soap recipe.

3. I use it, But I put it directly into the washer and not in the dispenser. It does not dissolve quickly and it will cause a back up in the dispenser.
