This is the coolest toy. My 5 year old nephew just loves him. The Zoomer Chomplingz Hyjinx Interactive Dinosaur. I received this toy from the Spark Reviewer Program. It requires 3 AAA batteries and once you install the fun begins. The battery back is connected with a string so it won't get lost like so many do. The "Z-REX" roars, growls, plays catch and several interactive games. One of my nephews favorites is when you pull Z-REX's tail he passes gas. He can put him in guard mode and he will guard his bedroom by growling and lighting up when someone enters. I think this is going to be the "toy" this Christmas. He will interact with the other Chomplingz toys. Very cool toy!

The Zoomer Chomplingz Hyjinx Interactive Dinosaur is a very cute toy. I received this in exchange for an unbiased review. We have the remote control Indominus Rex, also, and my 7yo son enjoys this Hyjinx Dino more. The price of this Dino is much more family friendly. They are on sale right now so it is an even better deal! The Zoomer Hyjinx comes with a soft rubber bone that is used to place a "catch" game. The bone is tossed into the mouth of the Dino and then he "spits" it back out. Another game my son likes to play is "hot hands." It is actually a different take on a game I used to play as a child called "flinch." You place your fingers in the Dino's mouth and pull them out when his eyes turn orange. If you flinch too soon or you do not pull your fingers out in time, the Dino's eyes turn green and he laughs. It is pretty cute and we have had lots of fun playing. The Dino has different modes that coordinate with different eye colors. You will need to sit down with your child to go over the modes and how to change the Dino into each mode. Keep the inclosed booklet handy until the modes are memorized. Even then I would keep it handy because it is easy to forget the modes. At least it is for my family! :) One of my son's favorite things about the Dino is that if you pull its tail, he farts. This keeps my 7yo quite amused and laughing. That is the first thing he shows people when he is playing with the Dino. :) All in all, this is a cute toy that is engaging and amusing. It is a good price and comes in several different colors. Make sure you purchase AA batteries as they are not included in the box.
This is actually for kids 5 & up. My son is four but I still feel like he enjoys playing with it even if he doesn't understand all the stuff it can do. We generally end up playing with it together. Batteries (3 AAA) are not included for starters. We received the 'Hyjinx' Chomplingz. It comes with a bone that you can toss in its mouth basically playing catch. The bone however is pretty small so my son is constantly losing it. I wish there was a way to attach it to the toy somehow so we could keep track of it. When you pull its tail, it farts which is hilarious. It also clucks like a chicken. It has sensors in the nostrils that pick up movements. The eyes light up a couple of colors which is supposed to indicate what mode the toy is in which I think is pretty clever design. When my son pushes it around the dinosaur roars and chomps which he enjoys immensely. My son also plays hot hands with the toy. Basically putting his hands in the mouth and trying to remove them fast enough before it closes it. He loves it! I'm very satisfied with this toy and overall I would recommend it.
Fun Interactive Toy
This is such an adorable and fun dinosaur toy! My six year old son is really into this! Keep in mind that you will need 3 AAA batteries. The dino has sensors in the nose that can sense/detect movement. Its eyes also change color. It also has a sensor in the mouth to help it play fetch (a little bone that comes with it). That little bone is such an adorable little accessory and I hope my son doesn't lose it. If you wave your hand in front of the dino it can respond to your movement, also when you push it or pull its tail. It is almost like an independent little toy that doesn't require a whole lot from the child, almost making it like a pet. There are a couple different modes of play and one of them is called the guard mode. You put a toy or something in front of it and it will make a noise when someone gets too close. The toy or item has to be large enough for the dino sensors to see it. Such a fun feature! Its actually super adorable and my son "protects" his toys from his little sister. I really recommend this dino and want to get one for my three year old. She is old enough to have fun with it, too. If I could change something about this toy, it would be his head looks up too high. That makes it harder for the dino to see lower and makes for a slightly more challenging protective mode, for example. But its not really that big of a deal.
I think this toy was pretty sweet deal and really cool especially for the price. You can make him growl and make noises by touching him in different places. If you pull his tail he passes gas sometimes which was a big hit with my 11 year old son and my very mature husband...lol!! He has different modes to activate different games etc. You can play catch with him with his bone. He basically just keeps his mouth open and you toss it. There is another game where you keep your hand in his mouth and when his eye change a certain color he "bites" down. He trys to trick you into thinking he is going to bite by changing his eye color but it is the wrong one. If you move your hand too soon you lose. If you keep it in too long you lose. I honestly can not tell when he bites and can not tell when the game is over. So I did not think this part was much fun. You can also make him cluck like a chicken which was funny to my kiddos. He does not move on his own but he does have wheels so you can push him forwards and backwards. We did this basically to play with our cats and dogs. He also beat boxes which does not last very long or sound like beat boxing to us. But it was still enjoyable for us to make him do it. He also does sound warp but we did not do that with him. But you put him in that game mode then by pushing him or pulling his tail he changes sounds. You are also able to put him in guard mode. And when an object gets close he growls at it.
Cute Dino with noises and light up eyes
We got the dinosaur for my son who is 9. He loves it! The dinosaur farts when you pull his tail and I think that is his favorite part. The dinosaur plays a game to see if he will bite (he wins) or if the child pulls their hand back in time before he chomps (the child wins). The eyes on the Dino change colors too as part of the game. This is a great game to help with reflexes too. The dinosaur has wheels on the bottom of its feet so it can be pushed around on a hard surface. It doesn't not work on carpet tho. We couldn't decide to get this product or the new jurassic park interactive dinosaur. We went this dinosaur for it was less than half the cost of the other. Glad we did and our son is just as happy! We also have a 4 year old and 2 year old who like the dinosaur. They don't understand the games but still think it's a cool toy. The dinosaur comes with a toy bone that can be used to play a game with catching the bone in his mouth. This is a little hard to perfectly throw in his mouth but our son doesn't mind if he misses.
Fun for all kids
My grandkids love this little dinosaur and spend hours playing with it. It does a lot of interactive things with the kids. It makes different sounds. One of the sounds being the kids favorite is it farts. The eyes turn different colors which is an indicator of his mood or mode. It plays catch with the kids. They just toss the bone towards his month and he catches it. The hot hands game involves you putting your hand in its month and pulling it out before it chomps down. It has wheels on the feet for the kids to push it around it does not move on its own. The cons: The age range starts at five but unless you want to be there to read and help with this toy all the time I wouldn't get it for any kid under six. There is a lot to learn to make this toy do all the fun things it's capable of doing. My grandkids range from six to fourteen. The older kids use the cheat sheet to help the six year old. He is picking it up but it's a lot to remember. It takes batteries which go fast it would be nice if this came with USB charger.
Kids Love the Catch Mode.
I received this product through the Spark Reviewer program. The box is very tough to get him out of. He comes with a bone and a set of instructions and takes 3 AAA batteries to run him. They are very easy to install just need a small phillips head screwdriver and they install on the base of his belly. His eyes change colors based on which mode he is in. He also plays 3 games with you. Sound Warp, Hot Hands or a game of catch with his bone. One of my kids favorite part is when you pull his tail he farts! He also has a guard mode that will guard something he is facing. The item has to be where he can see it (sensors on his nose) and he will growl and make noises if someone or something gets close enough. He also has wheels on the bottom of his feet, so when he is pushed by the child then he makes growling noises that way too. There isn't a remote control or anything for him so it's all physical connection. Overall, the kids really enjoyed playing with this one even though it wasn't remote controlled. I enjoyed watching them get a really good giggle out of the tail pulling.
Cute concept - limited functionality
The Zoomer Chomplingz Dinosaur is an interesting concept with a lot of promise. At least according to the product description and instructions. Unfortunately, the folks writing those materials apparently did not have access to the end product. There are supposed to be six modes as follows: 1. Play Mode - this initiates three "games" which includes "hot hands," "catch," and "sound warp." Each of those games have their own mode so Play Mode is redundant. 2. Hot Hands Mode - allows you to see if you can put your hand into the dino's mouth without being caught (something you can do in any mode and also something that gets old after one attempt). 3. Catch Mode - allows you to throw something into the dino's mouth when it snaps open (you need a "mode" for this? and it is nearly impossible). 4. Sound Warp Mode - makes an already unintelligible even less intelligible. Generally pretty useless. 5. Guard Mode - Finally something useful. Guard Mode uses sensors to make the dino react whenever something gets close. For a small child, this could serve as an intruder alert whenever someone comes into their bedroom, blanket fort," or other private space. 6. Auto Mode - this is supposed to cycle intelligently between the other five modes. It does cycle, but it seems to do so randomly without any input from the outside. While the Chompling is cute and the concept interesting, the final product certainly does nto live up to its potential. I would certainly pass on this one.
All Chomp no bite
The Zoomer Chomplings Z-Rex interactive chomping Dino is about 7” tall, and dark green in color with brown markings on its tail and back. He has big white teeth and loves to chomp. The eyes light up blue, yellow, purple, red or green depending on the mode its in. He makes lots of different sounds and does lots of chomping. The Z-Rex has a motion sensor on his nose so he sniffs like a dog with your hands are near. When in game mode you can play a game of hot hands or a game of catch. There is a bone included so you can play with him. He also passes gas when you pull his tail. On the bottom of the toy there are wheels to help roll him around. I think the toy is made in a cute design and cute to look at for a few seconds, but very annoying. All it does it a lot of chomping and makes a lot of noise. I am not impressed and neither is my 5-year-old son. It caught his attention for only 2 minuets then he went back to his Legos. I do not recommend this toy and give it a 2 star only because it looks cute. I was given Zoomer Chomplings Z-Rex for my honest rating and review.
