there is no reason to, just push out the air and seal, the zip lock freezer bag has a great seal, i buy burgers from pat la freida, 6 pounds at a time, and freeze them for 2 or 3 months just using ziploc

I put food items in them that I open that need to stay fresh. Also use them for travel bottles like shampoo and the bags stay sealed. They're durable so you can use them for a variety of things.

Great For Food Storage

I made a salad and was able to pour the dressing without any hassle of holding the bag open at the same time. The gallon size can hold a lot, it's perfect for marinating meat and storing food away. The only thing I would change is the thickness of the bag, it feels a bit flimsy. It holds well though, so I'll have to see how long it can be kept. I would recommend and will purchase again in the future!

Great design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ziploc with Stay Open Design fits the bill. If you follow the instructions and fold down the top of the bag, it will stay open for hands free filling. Be sure to fill the middle and entire bottom of the bag, to create a sturdy base. Then fill the bag slowly, unfolding as you reach the top of it.

Works as Advertised

These are clearly the winners as per the quality of purser the quantity is not as much when compared to other brands. They hold up very good whether it's liquid or solids. Easily closable, holds very good amount. I would like to but these but only constraints are quantity and price

They are versatile in that you can fold down the top for better filling. The bag is lighter which allows for the folding to stay put then folds back up for sealing very easily. Great for filling liquids!

According to a picture on the box and the bags themselves, they should stand up and stay open on their own. They do if you smoosh the bag down very low, but if you try to keep the bag taller to use the full gallon's worth of storage, they don't stay upright. This could get very messy. The quality of the bags themselves are great. I just won't use them how I hoped (being able to easily dump leftovers without needing someone else to hold the bag open or otherwise prop it up.
