I rarely ever write reviews but I felt like I needed to. I really dislike this bed. I bought this bed after the folding bed I had for a few years broke down. I need a sturdy folding bed for everyday use as my 14 yr grandson lives with me in a small apt. I chose this bed instead of the previous one I had, even though it was $40 more (other one was on sale) because it seemed like it was going to be sturdy with a better mattress...big mistake, It is a nightmare.
To start with the bed is difficult to put up and take down everyday, it doesn't exactly fold in half, it kinda folds in sections. While you are lifting one side to close the bed, the legs tuck in (see pic) forcing you to basically lift the bed to keep the other side from crashing into something. The bed, in it's folded state, constantly tries to fall over and it teeters when you roll it, that is because the legs with the wheels on it in the middle, are too close together so it throws the balance off.
The folding legs also do not lock, which is important because you don't want to get into a bed which may collapse on you. The way it's made, I worry that it will just snap in the middle. The mattress also smells which I saw on other sites but didn't immediately notice when it went up, probably because I had put a mattress protector on.
It also needs a longer strap to close it properly, a foam mattress may expand a little so you need a longer strap to close it, I had to put a bungee cord on to be able to close it (see pic). My grandson has only used this bed 3 times but I am so done with it... even though I don't have a car to return it.
