I received this product through the Spark reviewer program by Walmart. This is one awesome toy. When finished the main Rover build it's a rather large vehicle(16 inches long and 8 inches high). The Rover is fairly stable and can take being rolled and handled without collapsing. The instruction booklet contains pictorial instructions for each of the four builds(Rover, Retriever, Escape Pod, and Satellite). My eight year old son easily built each one with no help from me. However, for younger children, the builds may be quite confusing. The recommended age is 6 and above. I would say that is a good age. Most 6 year old's hand-eye coordination is good enough to build with small pieces. Nowadays, I would not put anything past any child who is determined to do something. There are only four colors used in the Rover set- white, orange, black, and silver(with the silver having two types of Zoob pieces. It can take some concentration to determine which pieces/colors are connected, but surely can be done. My son really enjoys playing with this Rover and changing it up when he wants to play something else. This set introduces some new pieces that add to the fun, such as: lasers, wings, cockpit, and a Zoob person. The one thing my son wishes this Rover could do is actually shoot the spikes. "Now, that would be totally awesome!"(my son's words) Other than that, he's quite pleased with it. I like that all the pieces in this set are compatible with other Zoob sets we own. I love Zoob because they are good educational build toys. If your child loves using their hands and building(as mine does) then this is the toy for them. Also, just because I have this for my son, girls who love to build, would surely love this as well.
