most of the land surrounding our new home is wetlands but we have a huge deck with more than enough room for a swing set if we can securely attach it.

    • A. I just installed this into dirt but I do believe you could use this anchoring system to install it to a deck. The straps are connected to the ground (or deck in your case) via a small chain which could easily be fastened to the deck with a lag bolt or screw.

    • A. This kit will not attach it to the deck. I would use large wood screws with fender washers and a piece of chain with plumbers tape ( metal strap with holes in it)to attach the chain to the legs of the swing set.

    • A. Yes the swings come with anchors. But they don't work well. I bought these before I knew the swing set had any with it. I had thought about returning these until I saw that the others werent working very well. I used the ones it came with and these combined and now the swing won't move even when I swing on it.

    • A. The metal screws are the anchors. On my children's swing set from years ago, I had to dig holes, fill them with Sakrete and then place the legs into the hole. It was a lot more work and permanent. This anchor set allows you the flexibility to remove the screw and move the swing set to another location.

    • A. They come with just straight silver anchors that go through the holes in the bottom of the poles on the swingsets but they don't hold the poles into the ground very well in my opinion.

Be sure you put them in the ground and then attach them to the swing. Otherwise the chains will sag and they won't do much. You gotta have the chain tight

    Good for toddlers

This product is reasonably priced for what you get, but if you have children that are older than toddlers, say 6 to 8 and up, it WILL NOT hold down the swingset. Once older children really get going on the swings closest to the ends of the swingset, these anchors will eventually pull out of the ground. It your children are older, I would consider another way of anchoring your swingset.

Works, but not with all that worthless hardware

I didn't think this product was worth the $15 I paid for it. It's just a few cork-screw anchors that worked better without that worthless hardware that comes with it. You're supposed to make some strange loop around the legs that is less than secure, and will slip out at the first movement. It was much easier to just take the cork-screw anchors and just put them stright through the holes in the legs of the swing set. Then you just screw them into the dirt and each one makes a fine anchor. You could probably find a handful of similar anchors elsewhere for a couple of bucks each. So the anchors work, but they are not worth the money, and they come with a bunch of worthless hardware.

Because the legs connect to the anchors with chains, the swing set can still move around a bit. Also, the swing set legs can still bounce up and down, driving them deep into the ground. The solution we found is to install three sets of anchors, so each leg has multiple anchors on it. I also cut up an old car floor mat and attached pieces to the bottoms of the swing set legs so they don't drive into the ground as easily.

I hardly rate anything the highest rating, but these were relatively easy to put in. The directions could have included to dig a hole so the anchors can go deeper.
