I have been looking for a red pair of loafers. These are beautiful and very comfortable. The leather is a perfect red. The last pair I had for 12 years and found these. thanks
I just ordered my second pair of these. They are not the prettiest shoes but when you wear a 13N and don't want a heel there are few choices. I will say that they are truly as comfortable as tennis shoes. I am on my feet a lot in a given day and they were comfortable from the first wearing. I have probably worn them 6 days a week in cool and cold weather. I have had the first pair for about 15 months and the sole cracked across the ball of my foot on both shoes. That's probably not too bad considering what I have put them through--mostly on my feet all day work but have also played a few games of Duck, Duck, Goose and Steal the Bacon in them. I am also ordering a dressier shoe this time but am afraid the comfort of these shoes have spoiled me!
Jenn 8.5WW black. These shoes are great basic classic shoes for work or play, they always look appropriate. Not too pointy or too boxy, and have a slim profile. They were comfy after I broke them in the first day, when I did have to wear a bandaid at the top of my heel, but not needed afterward. Trotters WW are always just a hair narrower than other brands, but they still worked, (so I could never wear W which I can in some brands). I would keep buying these forever if they keep the fit the same, shoes are always going to wear out eventually and will always need a new pair of basic loafers.
I have wide short feet that are difficult to find shoes to fit. I have a pair of Jenns (8WW) that I bought 8 years ago that are still in good condition that I use regularly for church and dressy occasions. They fit well and are comfortable. I needed some black shoes so came back and ordered this same shoe and size in a different color. When they came, I was immediately disappointed in the fit. They were so tight I could barely fit my foot into the shoe. My older shoes were almost too loose, and I didn't understand how this shoe--same size and style were so small. Even though they were snug, they did not cause any pain, so rather than immediately returning them, I decided to wear them around the house for a little bit and see what happened. They loosened up enough that it gave me hope that they would be okay. I started wearing them as usual and within a few uses the uppers stretched out such that they fit just fine and are the right size. I notice that on the sizing tips they say this shoe runs narrow and to buy one size up, but for me the next size up is too large. I feel this shoe does fit true size, but only after a breaking in period.
This is the third pair of these shoes I have ordered. This pair is for an upcoming vacation where I expect to do a lot of walking. This pair was to replace the black pair I bought 2 years ago. I wore the first pair all day right out of the gate and absolutely no discomfort. I especially like the thicker soles which make for easier walking on gravel or uneven pavement. They also provide good traction in a light snow.
These shoes were close to comfortable, just a little too short and narrow (I ordered a 8.5WW). I'm not sure if a half-size larger would fix the problem as it did for a previous reviewer, but my heels were starting to slip out so I will try something else first. They were wider than any of the other WW black loafers I've tried so far, and the squared off toe is a better fit than all the pointy ones out there.
I like these shoes, comfy and sleek looking. A good basic loafer, can be dressy or casual. I had to return these for the next half size up 9WW, because the 8.5WW wasn't giving quite enough room as it should have. But once I got the right size, I wore them out of the box on a weeklong trip walking around/standing all day and they were comfy enough. I always have an issue with the heel counter digging in at top edge above the heel, but these shoes didn't which was nice, I wore a bandaid in case. And after a couple days wear they were perfect and no need for bandaid. They are perfect for when you need to walk a lot, but want to look nice and don't want to wear sneakers. I feel the cushion and the arch support are good, (but I don't have really high arches). I got black but I would buy these again in more fun colors in future as well.
I have worn Trotters for many years and have always been very happy with the shoes, until I bought this pair. I wear a size 9.5 N. Some of any older shoes are 9.5 S. This pair of shoes runs so narrow, I couldn't even get the shoes on my feet! I was really counting on these shoes to replace a pair that need replaced.
