As nutritious as it is delicious, this quick-cooking dish contains milled flax seed, nature's most potent plant source of Omega-3 oils, shown to fight disease and stave off aging. Add to this the benefits of 6.25 grams of soy per serving, which has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.
Ingredients: Couscous (Precooked Whole Wheat Durum Flour), Roasted Soy Chips, Milled Flaxseed.
Instructions: Stovetop Directions: Servings (About 1 Cup Cooked): 1 Serving: 1/3 cup couscous; 1/2 cup water, broth or juice; 1 tsp olive oil or butter; 1/8 tsp salt (optional). 2 Servings: 2/3 cup couscous; 1 cup water, broth or juice; 2 tsp olive oil or butter; 1/4 tsp salt (optional). Approx. 5 Servings: 1 box couscous; 2 cups water, broth or juice; 1 tbsp olive oil or butter; 1/2 tsp salt (optional). 1. In a medium saucepan, bring water, olive oil or butter and salt (optional) just to a boil. 2. Stir in couscous, cover. 3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. 4. Fluff couscous lightly with fork before serving. Microwave Directions: 1. Combine water and salt (optional) in a 2 quart microwave safe bowl. 2. Microwave on high until boiling. Microwaves may vary, adjust times as needed. 3. Add couscous and olive oil or butter, stir. Cover; let stand 5 minutes. 4. Fluff couscous lightly with fork before serving. Enjoy!
