I don't think it would be fair to give it one star. But sometimes I forget that when the price seems too good to be true, it generally bites me in the rear. This time it was no exception. The pick up experience at Walmart was stellar though. The employee was very cheerful and insisted on helping me to the car, and helped me load it. And from there. it went down hill fast. This is an import from overseas, and their packing was horrific at best. And to top that, the cardboard box was WAY TOO THIN to secure the contents. I would net anything that there is not one in the marketplace in perfect condition. The loose shelves and other miscellaneous loose items within the box would have to put scratches on them. Not all severe, and can be touched up. But make sure you have a bottle of Old English when you get it. Anyway, this item is simply to big to return to wait for a new one, so we called the supplier. Not too friendly, but not insulting either. Just sounded a little annoyed. So they are sending 3 pieces (that were really bad) so we can finish assembling. Of course, they have no inventory in the country, so I am told that it will take 7-10 working days before they arrive. (2 more weeks)...And I ordered this online 2 weeks prior. Meaning it'll take a month. So you're wondering why i just didn't return it for my money? Because it is pretty cool. The fire place feature looks somewhat real and you can choose just amber glowing logs to small fire to large fire, It also boasts a thermostat for blowing heat. I suggest that you look at the selling photo carefully. Not many homes have plain brick laying on the floor to set it on, so you'll soon find out that it is shorter (by actual proportion) than seen in the photo. I missed that one. If someone would ask me if they should buy one? Truthfully, I'd have to say yes. But would prepare them on how to open the box, and make sure they have a nice vacuum to pick up the thousands of loose little pieces of static Styrofoam that will be spread out everywhere. I hope this helped. I hope the manufacturer reads it, and gives the factory better specification guidelines. I'm guessing that the raw material costs for a better shipping box with better quality packaging material would only add a couple or few dollars. And I'd pay the mark up charges on that. Versus cutting corners to maximize profit. And I'm sure Wal-Mart would appreciate it as well. Sorry for the long review.
