NO, the Westinghouse Lighting 6694900 60 Watt Black Jelly Design Exterior Light Fixture can't work with CFL's.

CFL bulbs DO NOT WORK with this fixture even though the manufacturer says that they will. I've tried it using the recommended wattage bulbs and they keep "blowing" on me. I had to replace the bulb EVERY DAY because they just don't work! Use "regular" bulbs ONLY!!!!!

CFL and LED bulbs must be designed for use in enclosed fixtures or they will not last very long.  These two types should also be checked for the design minimum temperature as to how cold it gets in your area.  CFL bulbs are available for enclosed fixtures that are rated a minus twenty degrees.  These are suitable for parts of the country where it sometimes gets a little colder.  I know of no household type of LED that is rated for cold temperatures other than maybe Christmas lights.  This information is listed on the bulb packaging and sometimes on the base of the bulb.  

Also be certain that the bulb is short enough to get the jar over the bulb.  You will probably find that the maximum length of the bulb cannot be greater than four and one quarter inches.

Yellow Bug Light bulbs usually meet all of the requirements since this is their intended usage.

Two CFL bulbs failed in two nights in the Westinghouse fixture.   CFL bulbs also flicker in this fixture.   I have a Brinks Dusk-to-Dawn light I bought from Walmart that has operated over a year with one CFL bulb and no flickering.

Easy installation. Seems to work better with an incandescent blub then a compact florescent bulb which seems to flicker on starting. Its plastic rated for out doors but only had it up two days so durability remains to be seen. The good part is you can use a 60 watt bug where you can't with the 13 watt two pin florescent lights.

The item was the cheapest around by a large margin and I should have known it wouldn't be that great of quality. The price of a typical dusk to dawn photocell is about the same price as the whole fixture so im guessing in the future I could replace them with a better photocell if I wanted to use a compact flourecent bulb (they currently flicker really bad no matter the level of light)

The price was RIGHT for this item; however, the "quality" was very poor. It is made of very THIN plastic and has hardly any substance or weight to it. Installation was VERY EASY and the products works very well; it comes on at dusk and turns off at dawn. It also uses a "regular size" lamp instead of these user-specific bulbs that cost a fortune! Although I am somewhat satisfied with this item, I feel it could have been better constructed out of stronger plastic. I don't mind paying a higher price for a quality item....rather than pay cheap price for a cheap item. I just think it could have been better made.

Not what I expected

Two CFL bulbs burnt out in two nights.

CFL bulbs flicker in this fixture.

Brinks brand looks identical but has no problems with CFL bulbs.  I have the Brinks fixture installed in a different location using a CFL bulb for over a year now.
