    The Portable Bomb!

Very glad to find Jumbo Joe back in the line up. We just moved near the beach in FL and Joe has jumped in getting the beach meals underway. Joe is just the right size to handle the needs of a few--and still remain portable. Assembly was easy and quality is good; anticipate many good outings!

    A Quality Grill

Again, Weber used quality materials to make this grill. I recommend this grill, but it is a BIG little grill. The legs and ash catcher are sturdy - big design improvements over my little Weber Smokey Joe Silver, which I love even if it doesn't have a bail. Negatives are 1. While assembling, I noticed the Jumbo's lid's circular aluminum air control had a sharp raised edge all around its bottom circumference. This acted as a circular knife that cut into the porcelain enamel of the lid even with loose tightening of the pivot bolt. I removed the air control disc and used a file to easily smooth the edge. A metal form punch at the factory will always leave a raised edge on a piece of metal. Weber should have finished the air control disc by a factory worker to smooth the raised edge that contacts the lid. 2. I had to bend the bail wire so it would clear the bowl edge, so the bail could fully descend and at the same time grip the groove in the lid handle. Getting the bail wire perfectly adjusted is problematic for a factory so I can't fault them for that.

Weber makes the best charcoal grills.

This is the perfect size when camping or tailgating with a couple of people.

A great grill for the money!

this grill is awesome! Assembly was relatively simple. Just follow the instructions. The lid locks down so you can carry it as a unit. Be very careful if it's hot! I'd wait for it to cool off. But this means it's portable for picnics or tailgating! It's compact yet it'll cook a lot of burgers. In the instructions, it shows you how to arrange your coals so you can have indirect heat for roasting large cuts of meat like briskets and pork butts. It has a cleanout at the bottom for the ashes but I took one reviewers advice and added a metal pie pan to the tray to simplify the chore. It also looks stylish and is very well made. It'll last for years with proper care. The lid even rests in its own rack so you can flip burgers etc without having to set it somewhere. Like it so much more than the others we've had and thrown out over the years.

    Works like it's supposed to!

Needs a cover larger than the Smoky Joe cover. Need short cover for the 18 inch grill.
