I purchased this pan two years ago to make gravy in. My other pans are nonstick and I didn't want to use a metal wire whisk in them because I feared scratching the nonstick coating. This Wearever pan has become my favorite sauce pan for more than just gravy. I've sauteed onions in it with no problem at all using only a little olive oil. So far, I haven't had any trouble with anything sticking to it. It comes out of the dishwasher looking great, and I don't have to have special cleaners for it. The pan has a nice weight to it, and cooks evenly on my glass-topped stove. I do recommend this little pan for doing a great job, and its low maintenance. In fact, I like this pan so well, I am in the market to replace my entire stock of nonstick cookware with other pieces like this Wearever sauce pan.

1.5 & 3 Quart SS sauce pans

I had to replace a few pots that the non-stick surface had worn off on and the aluminum underneath was oxidizing away, not good. These stainless steel (SS) pots are decent for the money. Not sure what the quality of the SS, is, 16/10 or ? The handle gets warm closest to the pot about 1"-2", but the rest of the handle is comfortable to the hand without needing a oven mitt. The SS glass lid knob does get hot enough to warrant a oven mitt. I replaced my SS knobs with the Bakelite knobs that were on my old pot lids. They fit in the glass lid hole perfectly. Likely a standard sized screw hole. But it worked nice, no more hot metal knobs, or need to use oven mitts. The top part of the SS band on the glass lid does hold some water and stays there unless you wipe it out with a sponge or towel. Could use some kind of notch in that area to drain this water accumulation. Other than the hot knob and water accumulation, it is still a decent pan for the money. Then again, any pans are better than the oxidizing aluminum pans I got rid of. Would recommend.

I have had this pan now for over a year. I love it. It is a heavy bottom pan that cooks beautifully at lower temps to get the same results. Oatmeal is an easy clean-up if you don't hurry and do cook on med to med high as the instructions say. The quality is as a much higher priced pan. I am now adding to my set and hopefully getting out of all my non-sticks which are indeed not good for your health.

I had a similar product from Oneida that I really liked. It had the same straining qualities as this pot. However the finish on the Oneida did not hold up. The stainless finish on this pot is much better and I think I will have it a long time.

This is a good little sauce pan for most applications. Heavy flat bottom and heats up quickly. However if a tight fitting lid is important to you you will be disappointed. The lid is too small for the pot and wobbles around when in use and the side pour spouts allow the steam to escape. I don't know why it even comes with a lid. I returned it for that reason but if that is not important to you it is a fine inexpensive pot.

What a great price for such a great pot. It's very professional looking, and the straining lid is so handy, especially for making single servings of pasta, etc. Use this pot the same way you'd use other stainless cookware, and the cleanup will be easy. No way to beat this price and free shipping with Wal-Mart --ordering another one today for my mother.

I purchased the 3 quart pan 20 years ago but had inherited different smaller pans when my husband and I got married. Fortunately my husband was making some hard boiled eggs and forgot about them. Of course, the pan was completely ruined along with eggs all over the kitchen. I saw this pan and knew how good the other one was so I puchased it. I LOVE IT. I use it for sauces, vegetables and soups. The strainer lid is perfect for one person meals, like mashed potatos and spaghetti. I just wish they had one in the 1 quart size, I would then have the complete set.

I first had a small strainer pot that was advertised on TV. I fell in love with it for heating canned vegetables and being able to strain it in the same pot! Unfortunately it started rusting on the inside after a few months (you get what you pay for). We stopped using it and went back to the old fashioned way to get rid of liquid. I HATED it! I searched on the Internet for a replacement. I wanted a better quality one so it would last. Those ranged anywhere between $40.00 & $80.00! It was also hard to find a small one. I finally found this name brand one for about the same price as my old one! I haven't had any problem with it. I was worried about the handle getting hot & the lid coming off while straining but it's worked wonderfully!

I thought the pan was a little pricey for my budget, but purchased any way. I'm so glad I did. I use it only to make tea...I never use a designated pan for tea on any other food product. The pan heated quickly (saving electricity costs) and my tea had the best tea flavor every. I was surprised that I had forgotten how good tea tasted until using this pan.
