Has its positive and negative features

The color selection in these Waverly fat quarters is very impressive and the "matching" sets really compliment each other. They are bright and bold and so feminine and pretty. The negative aspect is that these are sometimes cut very badly, almost on a diagonal, making it hard to work with due to uneven edges. The price is good and I made it work for my project, but I was a little annoyed with the sizes of some of my dinner napkins being slightly off due to the cut of the fabric. For small projects, I would still recommend this item.

    Fat Quarter Review

I am making a backing for a lap size quilt that requires 12 fat quarters. I needed white blocks to mix with some solid colors. The blocks are to measure 17 1/2 in x 20 1/2 in. To me, using fat quarters was easier than cutting yardage. A few of the white fat quarters were "wonky" and I lost some fabric in trying to straighten them to cut to the size needed. Tip: purchase extra fat quarters in case some are not cut correctly from the manufacturer. I did not prewash. I sprayed "Best Press" on each one before pressing but do not believe this caused the fabric to be "wonky". My definition of "wonky" is when folding fabric to make sure it is even, one side is shorter than the other, therefore, causing a loss of fabric when cutting to get the piece even.
