Exact same network as major carriers just way chea
I live in Las Vegas, and the service here is great. I've been using them for 2 yrs now and never had any issues with service, usually better than some other carriers, it's the exact same service network as any major provider but just wayyy cheaper. I either buy one of their 100$ phones or I just get a used one from someone on OfferUp or Facebook. As long as it's unlocked, I stick the Sim in and I'm good. Can't go wrong with it !

Terrible customer service, steals from customers!
Terrible, terrible customer service. I've used Walmart Family Mobile for years. I have always paid on time, and have been a great customer for them. I really am not the type to write reviews, but I am just so upset with what has happened. I noticed on Monday, five days ago- that my phone didn't have any service. I'm not sure how long it had been before that since my phone service had been cut off since I use the wifi at my home on my phone, but it was like my phone was completely shut off from any service. I called on Monday to see if they could fix this issue for me, and after being on the phone for TWO hours, being transferred so many times between different people who had no idea how to fix my phone, they finally told me that they were going to contact tmobile and they will give me a call back in the next day or so. Well, its been five days and nothing. So I called back today to just cancel my phone plan, and get a refund for the days I didn't use and the rest of my billing cycle. Once again, after being transferred between tons of different people- they told me they could not give me refund since I used some of the data already at the beginning of the month. I tried talking to many different supervisors, and they kept telling me no. I am not your typical Karen, complaining about everything customer, I really hate doing it. But I just think it is absolutely ridiculous that I had to pay for an entire month of service and only got to use a few days of it- and they refuse to give me a portion of my money back. They told me I could put my sim card in another phone and they can give me my missing days- but are they going to buy me a second phone to do that? Its so stupid. I wish I could do zero stars. And whenever they answer the phones, they always introduce themselves with the wrong company. They will say, "Thank you for calling Straight talk". and so on. It's really unprofessional.

New service port#

New to Family Mobile. Porting my number took less than 2 hours to start using the service, with a return phone call to confirm port was complete. WiFi calling, visual voicemail, 9 Gigs of LTE data with data working even during my phone call was a welcome surprise. T Mobile service coverage has certainly improved in the last couple years. Great experience with family mobile so far and at an awesome price to boot!

Works if ur in the right areas

So i looked at all the conplants my main goal was a cheap way of having a back up.that had good internet ..the one thing is i live in a rural area and the small town the signal dont cover the town and country area.s but i do go to the urban areas works great in those areas.very fast internet at least in my area and a few towers even beat verizion..no i did not port a new number and getting it runnig was real easy ..covrage was the main thing so if u have tower sites were u live then look at this if u travel a lot the interstate works great big citys r good...the speed again was very good even the 2g mode i was able to stream music. So its a risk i will addmit i gusse if need good map of coverage look at the google fi map that will be almost what covrage will be like..

Partial East Texas coverage

I left Straight Talk when it became obvious that they were losing cell tower access. Dead spots in Tyler. Same thing with MyFamilyMobile. Anyways, I love Walmart, so I decided to give them a shot. not worth the money. It's the first time in my life I couldn't depend on my smartphone. So, I've come to hear that this problem is becoming well known. Is Walmart listening?

Family mobile SUCKS.

Wal-Mart family mobile SUCKS. I buy the $39 plan and less than 2 weeks I'm out of data, and I'm not on my phone nowhere near enough time for the data to run out. They rip you off of the data, forcing you to buy a time and data card the next month. Go with another carrier, I sure am.
