    • A. Six wheels; one at each corner and one midway on each side. The frame is strong enough that it does not need a center support, and there are plastic clips that hold the 21 mattress support bars in place to reduce movement and noise. The support bars are 3 1/4" apart, making the frame very substantial.

    • A. It has 6 wheels on the frame. I counted 21 crossbars. No vertical bar, though it does have a row of plastic clips going up the middle, linking the crossbars, apparently to give it some more strength.

    • A. You must build the trundle. None of the pieces are assembled.

    • A. No, the frame needs to be put together. The long sides are actually two pieces. Easy to do, though. Very sturdy.

    True Rollout Trundle

I purchased the Trundle to go underneath a Daybed I had purchased years ago. It fit like a glove underneath. It was hard to put the bars in at first until we figured out that one can slide the bars into their appointed slots then lock them into place by the welded notch on each bar. We did not need to tap them into place at all. What I didn't like about the Trundle was I wished it was 2 inches higher. I wish that the wheels were wide (rug wheels) so they would roll better and I wish they swiveled to make it easier to glide/position the bed in a different angle. Also, a single, one piece vertical bar underneath the horizontal bars would have aided in extra support. But, I had a cousin who tested the Trundle for several days who is about 300 pounds or more and it worked out great. The Trundle really held up.

It's a good sturdy bed and it rolls easily on our old carpet. It was quite easy to put together until the very last step of snapping in those plastic inserts to hold the slats in place. They were definitely a pain, but using the flat side of a screwdriver as lever helped a lot (hammer just seemed to kind of mash them down). Using just your fingers would leave you with a very sore set of thumbs, though. The overall design is pretty good, with the exception of those plastic inserts; they aren't made to be removed, so I think it would be impossible to take the bed apart again without ruining them. The only other problem I have, is that I wish the side rails that hold the mattress in place were a little bit higher (they are actually nonexistant). If you were only planning on using this as a guest bed, and pulling it out only once every few weeks it wouldn't be a big deal. But we are using it every night, and the constant rolling it back and forth, with little to push or pull on, except the mattress itself, tends to move the mattress more than I would like.

This was a lot easier to put together than I thought it would be. Each part is labeled so that you can not put it together wrong. The little plastic tie-ins were a little tight on a couple of the bar posts so I did have to get a hammer and a flat head screwdriver and gently tap them in. Other than that this went together in about 15 mins from start to finish including putting it under the kids bed which was a perfect fit gives about 2 in on each side so it is a loose fit under the bed, so the kids are able to push the bed under with no problems at all, and the mattress fit on it just like a regular bed.

We just moved to a new state for my husband's job and have been renting a house with only 3 bedrooms for 7 of us! One room has 3 children. We used a bunk bed and a loft bed for them. The loft bed saved a lot of space with a desk and shelves under but the room layout (doors and windows) just didn't allow for both beds to be against a wall. The trundle bed has made a HUGE difference. There is room for them to play in their room now. My 9 yo daughter uses the trundle and can pull it out and push it in all on her own! Putting it together was a breeze except for the last step. The little plastic locks for each of the bars is very cumbersome to put in, but once they are in, they are in to stay! Great buy!

I bought this trundle to go under my son's twin bed. Putting it together requires pushing these square plastic fasteners into a slot for each bar that runs between the main frame. Sometimes they went easily, other times, it was a struggle that required a hammer. After it was assembled, it glided (and still does) very easily out from under my son's bed. It's a very quiet bed, too - no creaking or squeaking. Very happy (after assembly!)
