    • A. You cannot rewrite on these. You can only record on -R. To record over an exisiting or erase data you need RW. Not sure about +R you can google it to find out.

    • A. +R vs -R represent types of formatting. I have used both and never had a problem. However, the -R is the more commonly used format. That is the reason I purchased this product.

    • A. +R and -R are like different formats. Some DVD recorders will accept both formats. Some will only accept one or the other. As for the R and RW go whether they are either + or - formats the R only types are the write once only and cannot be erased and rerecorded again while the RW's are the rewriteable kind. I would recommend for the home movies you want to record from the VHS tape are the -R type. Chances are you don't ever want to record over those discs again and plan to keep those recordings forever anyway. It takes a little longer for the recorder to write on a -R or -RW disc than it does on a + R or RW type but the - type seem to work better in the long run on DVD players. I hope this information helps you. Good luck

    • A. The RW stands for rewritable (you can erase and re record on these disc many times. Theres really no difference between the + and- disc both record the same way, but some dvd players have trouble playing the + disc

    • A. -R and +R refer to different formats. Most recorders can use either. RW (rewriteable) means can rerecord on the disc. Typically more expensive than one-time record.

    • A. +R and -R refer to the recorder, it will specify which it requires, although newer machines and most computers will accept either, some times -R will be on sale and cost less. These discs can not be re-written, once used they're done, RW discs can be written over and re-used limited times.

    • A. Dear Miss Mimi about DVDs well... First DVR-RW means rewritable which is good if you plan to rerecord over them,... but they cost more DVD-R and DVD+ are about the same it depends on your DVD player/burner I personally use DVD-R as I get fewer errors

    • A. Each DVD says 120 minutes max on it, but it depends on your DVD Recorder, whether or not it will expand the time giving you more recording time on the DVD much the same way a VCR can be set to record in SP(2hrs), LP(4hrs) or EP(6hrs) mode which on a vhs tape this affects the video quality of the recording where there does not appear to be a difference in quality when you do this on a DVD. I have 2 DVD recorder/players and one will only allow 2hrs per 120m dvd where my other recorder/player will expand that 2hr dvd into 6hrs. Also note that if you plan to put vhs recordings onto DVDs the picture quality regardless of original tape speed is very poor even if the vhs tape is new. The DVD recorder supposedly can recapture some of the quality from the tape, but in my opinion not enough to bother putting vhs on dvd format. A fresh recording would be better.

Customer has been confirmed to have purchased the item from Walmart.

Item arrived three days after order. If you ship to store (free), the price per disk runs about $0.22. This is the best deal I've found anywhere in town and online! When I purchased this spindle of disks, I thought each DVD-R would be printed with a busy orange & blue pattern that left little space for writing. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that, once you tear off the shrink-wrapped plastic, the spindle cover is translucent and the top of each DVD-R is basically blank (light silver/gray) with plenty of room for writing using your permanent marker. I burned 9 DVDs of photos right off the bat and not one disk failed to record properly. Excellent product! Highly recommended!

I've ordered this product a few times. The good news is, for the MOST part, they're pretty consistent. But, I will say, I've had as many as 10 discs that wouldn't record. Ten percent is not really a good margin of poor quality. I've never done any work that was 10% unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, most people I've worked with, and many products that I've bought were of marginal quality. Since DVDs and CDs are made by machine, I would expect better consistency. Especially since the price went up about 15%. Message to Walmart: Since you've raised the price more than 20%, I will expect higher quality. I will be putting aside all of the ones that don't work this time and we will have to make things right. I wish I'd kept the other 20 or so, so I could have more leverage. Otherwise, I will wait until I have 100 of them collected and ask for the full price of the last set I've bought.

I have been into video tape and now DVDs for many years since home video first appeared back in the late 70's. In recent years I have switched over to the DVD format for recording and from time to time have run into issues with some media and my recorder as well as my computer DVD burner. I have found through lots of trial and error that for quality and compatibility I have not found a better brand than Verbatim to use with my video gear. My only complaint is that this brand is frequently hard to find in stores and can usually only be located online. But Walmart's site to store shipping and their online availablity of this product has been very helpful in obtaining this media. All told I have been very pleased with this product and with the Walmart site to store experience.

I have no complaints about the disks themselves they're great. The spindle could be better because that was shattered in the shipping. The length could be better too, only 2 hours of recording time per disk.

I've heard many times that this particular brand of rewritable DVDs is the best around and I decided to give them a try - LOVE THEM! I've been particularly fond of Sony, but I usually only buy them at other stores when they're on sale. You cannot beat this quality and quantity of this product at this price! They turn out a picture slightly better than any other brand. The one and only complaint I have doesn't relate to the product itself, but the packing at the warehouse could be much better. When it arrived, the plastic cover was cracked, but that didn't affect the product inside.
