    Good baby monitor
Good product. I like the clarity and the 2 way communication part of it. I can go outside with the belt clip without any interference. The night light glow in the base handle is a nice feature. One thing to keep in mind. The base only works when plugged in. I thought since it is rechargeable both pieces were but only the hand held/clip part is. Nice for the money.

Died in 1 month due to quick power failure
I was attracted to these units when I realized that they didn't utilize the same frequencies as my far better Graco digital units, and were guaranteed to be clear. We are on child 2 now, and needed to hear both our baby and our toddler, and running 2 Graco units wasn't working out for whatever reason (interference from the first?) Anyway, these units worked great for about a month, although their volume wasn't quite as loud as the other brands we have tried, it was clear and had no static. The night light feature was nice, and being able to talk to the baby was a neat idea, especially for use with the toddler. One evening our power went out for about 30 seconds and came back on. Once it was on, the receivers would not link anymore with the baby unit. I looked this up (what little information I could find) and people say that the receiver, or sending unit will burn out in the baby side, and this renders the set useless. I had a very hard time finding the V-tech setup with 2 monitors, looks like they are off the market, more then likely for this issue. Even though they were under warranty, I don't feel like sending them back, so I threw them away and bought a cheaper Graco setup with the 900 mhz ( like older cordless phones) frequency as not to mess up my digital pair I've used flawlessly for over 2 years. It's working better then these V-techs, and it was about 30 dollars cheaper. Buy at your own risk. I have always thought V-tech communications was kinda on the cheap side, this item solidifies that opinion.

Great product can't beet the price.

This product exceeds my expectations the talk back button is a great feature. You will be pleased with this unit I recommend it. I don't have a baby but I take care of a sick person and now we can talk without shouting and me running To hear what she says or needs. I recommend this highly. And very affordable. Works great.

Does the job it says it will do.

I use the monitor for situations when I am in another part of the house or in the garage or yard close to the house, away from my wife who is an invalid. It works very well for my purpose. The only negative I would have is that the 1,000 foot range would probaly only apply to completely open spaces, but the range is good enough for my use. The belt clip is a little awkward to use, but it wnn't slip off.

    Love it!!

I am a caregiver to my handicap soft spoken senior mother and needed this monitor for when she needs me. This monitor speaker is very sensitive and catches her every call to me. I like the vibration option. If I'm outside doing gardening the vibration option informs me of her calls. I like how the lights flash with sound. When I'm in my room watching a loud action movie late at night I put the monitor in front of the television so I can see when she calls me. I like the "talk" option so I can tell her I hear her and I'm on my way. It has a good range, is light weight and clips on my waistband to carry with me around the house. I never mis her call for me.

    works exactly as advertized

This provided and easy option for a problem other than monitering a baby. I cannot hear our doorbell in our bedroom, which is important since I sleep in the daytime, so I plugged in the "baby" part of the device, placed it on top of my existing door chime (the electric cord is long enough), then I plugged in the "parent" moniter near my bed. When I'm ready for sleep, I just turn it on and it works like a charm!

    Fantastic Baby Monitors!

I am in love with these monitors! Not only were they some of the cheapest ones I found online, but they have the "parent talk back" feature, which was really important to me. I had been using some older monitors to listen to my two daughters (ages 3 and 7) at night, in case they needed something. Those monitors had tons of static, but I had gotten used to it, and it wasn't a problem. Then, I ordered these - with the intention to use them for the girls (because of the awesome talk-back feature), and use the old monitors for the new baby- and I love them so much I may have to order another set for the new baby! There is NO static whatsoever on the parent's monitor. NONE! The screen isn't bright and shining in my eyes all night. The screen shows the word "linked" to indicate that it is linked up with the child's monitor. I can hear everything that is going on in the girls' room, which is clear across the house - I can even hear both girls breathing on it (one girl is on a top bunk, one on bottom, I have the monitor on a shelf level with the top bunk)! My favorite thing about them, of course, is the "parent talk back" feature. There's a button on the side of the parent's monitor that I push and hold down while speaking into/at the monitor to the girls, then I release the button when I'm done talking and I can hear them again (I can't hear the while pushing the button down - it's like walkie-talkies). The girls can hear my voice anywhere in their room, and even into the hallway outside their room. I am looking forward to using this feature to wake up my seven-year-old in the mornings for school while I'm taking care of the new baby. Great price, Great product, Easy to use, Sleek design, No annoying lights or fuzzing sounds. Use the site-to-store option for free shipping!!!

    indispensible

I got this for taking care of my Dad as he declines. I can hear his every breath, and when he calls my name I can answer back that I'm coming. It gives me a little freedom as his caretaker to take care of myself so I'm there for him. Otherwise I would be in his room all the time. This little device has done so much and is worth it's weight in gold to us. The belt clip is great. The only flaw I see is that you must charge it all night and as much as you can during the day as it goes fairly fast, but is enough if you're aware and keep charging it.

    Great for the office

Business not baby - This was product was ordered to be used as a monitor to hear a high humidity alert in a datacenter that no one can hear unless walking by. It's important to keep the computers running and aware of any alarms. This was an inexpensive solution that works out great. It was delivered to a proud childless dad and he gets teased daily about his baby monitor!! :) :) :)

not using for a baby, it's used for my mother

using it for a safety device, my mother is sick and needs help getting out of bed etc. this allows me some freedom cause I'm not confined to the house there a area around the house that I can get out to do jobs I haven't been able. now I can just hear her on the monitor and I don't have to stay in the house within ear s length

    1. The battery on the parent unit is rechargeable. There is no battery on the baby unit. The unit comes with two 110v power cords.
    by wejiford
    2. Yes, you don't have to use batteries
    by Noob
    3. Yes. That is how we use ours. The batteries would be a great back-up in case of power failure, but otherwise an added expense.
    by Ginny3235
    4. We keep the units plugged in and just turn them on and off when we use them.
    by Tiggerbum
    5. Both units plug in. However the parent unit also comes with a rechargable battery that allows you to travel room to room with it. It recharges once it's plugged back in.I didn't want batteries either and this unit is great!
    by MMW1
    6. YES
    by grtgranny15x
    7. Only the parents receiver uses batteries.but its the rechargable ones and they are included. You just charge the parental receiver and either leave it plugged in or take it with you around the house.
    by KEEPEROFCHEERIOS2
    8. Anytime you plug the monitor into the wall it works, charges your battery if it is low and it does not drain your battery. They said on the box the battery life would only last an hour and a half, but we used it all day and it still had two bars left. We use it everyday and it still is working great after a month.
    by BCJO
    9. The baby unit only runs plugged in, but the parent unit has a rechargeable battery that lasts for many hours when fully charged. It also has a "low battery" alert to let you know it needs to be recharged soon.
    by ShoCoco
    10. YES they both have ac cords & can be used with out batteries but the parent unit comes with a rechargeable battery pack already installed

    5. Yes it can, but the level one I found lets me sleep better. We only hear her when she is really crying. I don't have to worry about waking up to see if the monitor is lighting up.
    by BCJO
    6. The parent receiver does not light up to indicate noise in the baby's room - it's sound only! You can turn the sound down, or all the way down, but then it would not let you know if the baby was crying or anything. Hope this helps!
    by MrsFarmerDill
    7. The receiver can mute and also has 5 different volume levels. It will still light up while it is muted when it picks up sound from the baby unit.
    by ShoCoco
    8. Yes, you can turn the volume completely off on the parental unit. You can have lights only, or lights and vibration only, or all 3 on.
