Durable, easy, but not good picture quality

My kids are always using my grown up camera, so I thought they would enjoy cameras of their own. I checked reviews on other sites, and people seemed satisfied with these cameras. Things you should know before you buy: This is a very durable camera. The navigation menu is clunky but the kids figure it out quickly. The picture quality is not good, and there's not much you can do about it. Make sure you are in good light and standing very, very still. If your kids already know how to use a camera, consider getting something more advanced. It this is a true first camera for your child, then it's ok for the price.

    Great Kid's Camera

I had looked around for a camera for my 4 year old boy to receive upon his birthday and decided on this camera. This camera is a pretty good deal for how much you pay (I paid $30 with site-to-store) and has a lot going for it, including; · A decent camera - not fantastic but it's for children so who's complaining? I would have liked it to have better macro focus, though. Also, indoor pictures are commonly blurry with shaky children photographers. The lens on the front is sunk in so fingers aren't going to get it smudgy or scratched. And the screen is easy to see, one thing I worried about. · Rugged build - the body has a pretty solid feel and it's been dropped a few times already. I'm not really worried about it breaking apart. · Software - The camera's other functions are a plus, not that children need this but it's there nonetheless. The interface is easy to navigate for the most part but my son needs help with things like how to make a stop motion animation and other things like this. You can also do fun things with voice recordings like high pitch or a vocoder robot voice. Overall it's a great deal for all this camera does, even though there are other more expensive cameras with better image capture abilities.

Birthday present for 3-year old grandson

This past Summer, while on vacation, our grandson was allowed to take photos on his parent's cell phones; so for his 3rd birthday, we saw this V-Tech camera, and since the reviews were really good, we decided to get it for him. He LOVED IT! It's easy to use, and aside from showing him what button to push to take the photo, he was good to go. He took photos of everyone at his party! I would recommend this camera.

    Fun present

I got this as a present for a 2.5 years old boy who loves to take pictures with his parents camera. Needless to say they are happy, and he loves the extra features the camera offers.

    Good camera for kids

If your child is around 5 yo, and this is his or her first camera, he or she will have a blast. The design is great, and is very intuitive to use. My grandson enjoys taking pictures and looking at them in the computer.

    Great Kids Blue/Green Camera

Walmart has the lowest price on this camera, it does everything promised, the blue/green combo works for a boy or girl. One iffy thing is the battery cover, it doesn't require screws, and it's too large to swallow, however if you lose either latching cover, the camera will be useless. It is difficult to remove the first time so requires some patience. You can get a 2GB SD card for the camera (not an SDHC card which will not work!) , but they are hard to come by and expensive-about 1/3 again the cost of the camera. I suggest don't waste your time/money on that, the built in memory is fine ..

    My grandson lives this camera!

I bought last yr for my grandson & he loves taking pictures. This one is for his younger brother who was too young last year, so they don't fight. This camera is great & does allot.

My 3 year old loves it!

Got this for my younger son for Christmas and it has been a consistently used toy since then. He didn't put it down for the 1st 3 days taking pictures of everything. It's amazing how quickly he could fill the entire memory. Yes, the pics were blurry and grainy, but he didn't care; he was still so proud of himself for taking them! Don't expect it to actually function as a camera to capture memories. It's all just for the fun of having his own camera and taking as many pics as he wants. After having it for almost 6 months now, he uses it more for the other features, such as the games and the voice recording. My 5 year old has fun with the camera too and takes better (still not great) pics with it. It has taken a number of tumbles too and it's no worse for wear. We've only changed the batteries twice, so I'd say it's got a good battery life. Totally worth the money. It's provided both my kids with hours of fun!

Kids love it. Mum is no such a fun

My kids (aged from 3 to 8) love it. I particularly don't like two main things: 1. Lids covering batteries are very easily open, and my 3yo kid loved to take the batteries out... 2. I don't like the games included, nor the effects for the pictures. If it'd only allow regular pictures, kids could be more focused on trying to take nice pictures and start loving photography, instead of using as a toy or console.

    It costs you more

You need to understand that this requires a Micro SDHC card to be able to take 800 photos, which is not included, so the great price is not the total picture. That said the budding photographer enjoyed taking pictures all day and adding the picture frames and playing games. Seems pretty rugged but the quality of the screen pictures was not exciting, hope the pictures look better when downloaded. This jury is still out.
