    Great TV

I bought this to replace a previous lcd tv. This LED TV is pretty amazing. The picture on an LED is so much better than LCD. When watching movies it's like the people are actually sitting there as if you're watching a play. I would definitely recommend this TV and I bought it for $699 what a deal, this is the price for most LCD's. The picture in picture is not as easy as my previous TV but it's not hard to access. I wish you could easily switch audio between pictures. I gave the audio only 3 stars because the speakers are on the side and the sound sort of goes out to the side. This TV sits next to a computer desk so I had to balance the audio to the other side because it's too loud sitting so close to it. Not a big deal. Overall great picture and hopefully a great longtime value.

    Good 42" Visio LED-LCD Thin

Walmart shipped site-to-store. Box was beat up kinda bad but the TV was OK. Picture quality is great in both regular and HD. Menus and settings are easy to use. Remote control is easy to use. You can rename the inputs so you can see which device is plugged into which input. Overall I'm very pleased. Sound is sharp but lacks bass. I have a tabletop stereo plugged in to help with the sound so it's no big deal. Later, I'll add a home theater.

    Loving it!!!!

Bought this tv and fell in love with it!!!! the picture quality is awesome. It fits perfectly on my tv stand which has 2 towers attached. Sound is good, will be buying the sound bar to go with the tv... Im a happy camper right now and im very happy with Vizio...have a 22 in my bedroom for 3 years now and still looks like new...hope to get the same quality out of this one... Its def and great buy!!

    Beautiful Picture

I researched for about a year before making this purchase and found that this was the newest tv with the best features for my money. Vizio seems to have good quality and the backlit LED looks amazing! Thanks to the help of a fantastic Walmart Associate I found that to watch sports on HD I needed a 120Hz refresh rate to get the best picture and keep it smooth. He also let me know that video games are amazing in HD with the 120Mh. Things look almost 3D on this tv! One of the things I looked for was the quality of the picture from the side angle, and this one surpasses most I have seen. The picture stays true from anywhere and the screen doesn't get grey looking or dark from any angle either. Very good overall picture quality! It was easy to set up and connect to our satellite, wii, and other devices. There are plenty of hookups for anything we might use, and the price point was perfect. The sound is not as good on this tv as I would have liked but it isn't bad at all. I am getting surround sound for Christmas anyway. I would recommend this tv. No regrets

Best 42 inch LED TV for the price!

This is my first flat-screen TV. I was determined to get an LED for the reduced power consumption. This TV uses less power (65-75 watts) than my old 19 inch box TV with a converter...sweet! The picture is fantastic by any measure and, contrary to what some reviews say, the sound can be adjusted to be very good. Not like a theater, but great for a family room. My only issues are: 1) The remote doesn't have the "favorites" buttons which I find very useful. But...I programmed my old Universal remote and use it on this TV so I still have "favorites". To go to a channel, you have to punch in the entire channel and "enter". So for channel 20-1, that requires that 5 buttons be pressed! Seriously, there has got to be a better way to change the channel. This is why I like the "favs" buttons. 2) The owners manual isn't as descriptive as it could be when it comes to explaining the many "picture selections" in the menu. Some of the choices are just not intuitive as to how they will affect the picture quality. But...if you "trial and error" for long enough, you can get the picture dialed in pretty well. This is a great TV and you will not be disappointed! No need to spend more unless you need things like internet, but you can always get that from a Blu Ray player too.

    VIZIO 42" LED-LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV M420NV

I read a lot of reviews before buying this. Sound was the only repetitive issue mentioned and now after 3 weeks ownership SOUND is NOT a problem. It does surround sound exceptionally well in our living room. It is not "theater" quality but this is a typical living room; not an entertainment facility. I love the anti-glare screen that nobody mentioned in reviews. I love the automatice light sensor that brightens the picture when the sun brightens up the room and how it dims down appropriately when the clouds dim the room. PERFECT. This TV is worth hundreds more that the 6+ I paid. Site to Store saved $50 over in store and wait was reasonable 7 - 10 days. At 35 lbs it was easy to set up to replace my previous 200 lb beamouth 37" tube TV. I bought the cheap $10 HDMI cable to ship with it and it works like an expensive Monster brand I tried as well. HDMI is a must for best picture and sound on any TV and our DISH HD DVR has it too. Again, picture quality and sound are excellent.

    Great TV

This Vizio 42" LED-LCD HDTV is awsome. Meets and exceeds all my expectations in a LED-LCD TV. The picture quality is very crisp and the colors very bright. I've waited until the analog TV gave up the ghost and then did some quick self educating on what to look for in a LCD flatscreen. With all my newly gained knowledge from the internet I went to Walmart to their wall of TVs and came away with two different modles in mind. Went back home and began my search for the right price and came away with this 42 " Vizio and very glad I did.

    VIZIO 42" Class Razor

This is my second VIZIO 42" HDTV. Our first one was a Plasma version and now we bought the LCD/LED model. The new TV has no heat coming off the screen, boy what a difference. Our old model ran very hot and heated up the room. I did not rate the audio output because I do not use the built in speakers, all my inputs go through our home theater amp. No negatives to speak of so far.

    Very satisfied customer

Just bought this TV and couldn't be happier, mainly because of the quality picture and awesome price. Picture is very sharp, bright and life-like, size is perfect, slim and attractive, the multiple HDMI outputs and locations are nice. Picture looks just as good as the "name" brands, for about $300 less. Only negatives are the speakers, they could be better. Overall I am very satisfied with this TV.

    Amazing TV

After much research and perusing of reviews, I decided on this model as a replacement for my older, 26", 720P TV. The M420NV seemed to be the best balance of quality and price for the class of TV that I was looking for. After only two days of use, I have virtually no doubt that this was the right conclusion. For the price, you just cannot beat this TV! Vizio is a real rising star. They are no longer just another off brand. They have some really nice home entertainment devices on the market and have earned a lot of respect in the industry. I really wanted an LED backlit TV, mainly because of the better contrast and lower energy consumption. This is one of the edge lit models (IE, it does not have a full grid of LEDs in back of the picture, just some on the sides and a reflective surface in back of the picture). I had some reservations about that, as I had read that some edge lit models have an issue with parts of the picture being noticeably brighter than others. Not the case with this model, to my relief. The picture is just stellar! I notice a huge improvement in the colors and the contrast over my last TV - just beautiful! The 120Hz refresh rate has been a popular premium feature in TVs over the last couple of years and from what I have seen, it can be hit or miss, depending on the TV and sometimes the content. It can give the picture a plastic, fake sort of look. It also appears to mess with the frame rate. With that said, I have not had these issues with my M420NV. On the contrary, the 120Hz refresh rate adds a wonderfully vivid, life like appearance to the picture; feels like looking through a window sometimes! It's great! Finally, I want to chip in my two cents about the sound. I noticed that that is a chief complaint about this model from most reviewers. When setting up this TV, I immediately hooked it up to a speaker system, so this has not been an issue for me and I cannot comment one way or another as to the quality of the built-in speakers. However, I must say that whatever it uses to process audio is pretty sophisticated. The simulated surround sound effects are very convincing; it manages to throw sound effects around the room very well. It certainly isn't the real deal, but in my past experiences, simulated surround sound is usually total garbage. Not so with the M420NV. The only negatives I have noticed so far are fairly minor: As with any device with a glossy finish, it is an absolute fingerprint magnet. I'm also not a big fan of the stand. It is cheap, flimsy and does not swivel. On the other hand, it does have a tilt adjustment, which was handy for me, considering my living room floor has a dip under the TV stand, making it a bit off level. Overall, I love this TV and am very satisfied with my purchase decision. I would highly recommend this to my family, friends, or anyone looking for a great 42" TV in this price range. 5/5 stars.
