Best purchase ever!! It tested everything on a sting of lights. I've been able to fix garlands and hanging lighted bows. I also went to YouTube and found a video with an electrician explaining how to use light pro and how to understand the lights. I've amazed my husband.

This saved my prelit christmas tree and my outdoor lights. Great tool
WOW just WOW! This thing is wonderful!
ok. I don't know how this thing does it but I fixed an entire string that I was going to throw away. Not one bulb would light but after pulling the trigger in 4 or 5 areas and replacing half the spent bulbs..the entire thing lights! Great investment!
I actually use this on an LED set. Its not actually supposed to be used on an LED set. Its not made for LED, but the power indicator part was useful to track down the bulb that was bad. Also the light tester at the top helped me to determine which bulbs were good or bad.
Saved me from going crazy fixing my pre-lit tree
I have a pre-lit tree that had a strand of lights out. Of course I didn't want to untangle and replace the whole strand, so I looked at each individual bulb to see if they looked broken. There was one that was blackened, so I replaced it, but the strand didn't work. I finally broke down and bought my own light keeper tool and discovered there were actually seven more bulbs in the strand where one of the bottom pins had broken at the base of the bulb. These bulbs looked just like all the other ones, but with the combination of the non-contact voltage sensor (works like the sensor in my multimeter that I use for household electrical work, only for Christmas lights) and the built-in bulb tester it was pretty quick to track them down. I'd used another light keeper helping a friend with their pre-lit tree and it worked great, exactly the process as described. Not sure what was up with my tree, but I actually found that up until a broken bulb the detector would beep when it was around 1" away from the strand (like the instructions say). Past the break though I'd get beeping up to 6-8" away. Once I figured that out though it was easy to narrow down all seven other burned out bulbs. I can't imagine trying to fix a strand of lights without a tool like this. I'm keeping mine with my Christmas stuff so I never go crazy trying to hunt down broken bulbs again.
