Rocksmith for Xbox360 suggests using an adapter to run the sound to your stereo. I bought this one to use for Rocksmith. It works fine. I would recommend this adapter to others. I haven't used the optical port, just the RCA, but that's what I got it for.

I had to purchase this for my son so the Turtle Beach headset would work. They gave us cables but they didn't work. I had to spend an extra $16 on this item so he could actually use the headset

HAD TO BUY THIS TO GET THE HEADSET TO WORK!

Only isssue we had (my 11 year old and I) was the need for an extra cable to use with HDTV. There was very little technical data on exactly what you needed and how to connect available. Once we figured it out they were great for him.
