I am surprised that this weighted tranquility blanket isn't suggested for children, as I would think that is their primary market. But that is what it says on the packaging.
Though I really don't have any issues sleeping, I've heard so much about these blankets, I was hoping that it would help me sleep better.
I found it was more in the way, than a help to me. I see that I should have one about 7% my weight, but I'm not one to have someone sleep on me I guess.
Maybe I need to use it more often, or I'm just not the targeted demograph.
I will say that it's great up against the back, as a stop; like someone was in bed with you. I am going to suggest it to a friend of mine, that should do some more propped side sleeping for medical reasons.
The tranquility blanket doesn't seem to get too hot even as summer moves along, just heavy (weighty).
I, myself, just didn't find any comfort in it but the honey seemed to get some, sleeping with it. She wrapped up in it on the couch.
The little dogs liked it, but only if someone was with them. I didn't notice any quelling of anxiety in them though.
You don't think that 15 pounds is much, until it's laying on top of you while you're trying to sleep. You will notice it when you turn, & it slips off. It's not uncomfortable, you just notice that it has moved.
The outer covering is velvety slick on both sides, & super nice to lay on. You could just wrap up in it, as it's that soft.
It didn't have any manufactorer smell to it. Being that it isn't packaged, you may want to wash the shell first.
Do keep in mind that it will be a bit of a struggle getting it back into place, around the inner bag. That's just how covers are. I suppose you could spray clean it, if that's something acceptible to you.
I don't know about the longevity of this blanket; I would hate to get a rip in it as that would be a vacuum killing mess to clean up.
The bottom line is that you should try this out to see how you like it, you may be surprised to find that this one fits the bill very well for you.
