I've had this pot for a year or 2 now and was checking to see if WM.COM still carried it because I want to get a couple for Christmas gifts. I am happy to see this wonderful pot is still available! Clean up is super quick because it's non-stick. You can use the regular glass lid when you need the pot covered. There are 2 small air holes (in mine anyway) in the lid so some steam escapes. You might consider this when cooking with specific amounts as with rice/water. That is what I use mine for most of the time but it's great for pasta, vegetables, small batches of soup, chili, etc. It is lightweight and the shape makes for easy storage. Handles do not get hot, nor does the lid handle as with some other cookware. I never put mine in the dishwasher and I make sure only spoons, etc., I use to stir with are ones that will not mar the non-stick finish. I hope to get several more years out of it. Money well spent, plus it's attractive so it doesn't look bad if you leave it out on the stove for your next use. :-)

Wonderful product with the non-stick coating which holds the pasta warm after draining without the pasta sticking. Super easy to clean. And you can cook your pasta without rapid boiling. I had a hard time finding this non-stick pasta pot for my mom, and I can't understand why because they are so great.

THis pot has been a great replacement for a warn out Italian pasta pot. It has worn well and works great! I just wish they made one a size larger for bigger family meals - I replaced an 8 qt with this and works for small family dinners, but not sunday for 10. Getting one now for my mother and father as a gift.

I've had this pot for over two years now and it looks pretty much the same as the day it bought it. It's rare to see this pot on my shelf as I use it almost constantly; usually for soup or stew etc. It works out wonderfully and cleaning is a breeze. I've been extremely happy with this purchase and it was a super value for the amount I use it. I'll probably treat myself to another one.....

Nice straining pasta pot and good with pasta or potatoes. The handles could have more plastic on them because the pot gets real hot and you may need hot pads to take it off the stove! The metal straining part can be tricky to get on but with patience you can do it! Hard to find a good pasta pot under $50 but this pot is a great addition for anybody that likes to cook!

    • A. (1) Country of Origin is "USA or imported"? Which one, and if imported, what country? ANSWER: The information is usually entered by someone working for the manufacturer. Ideally, this should state: Made in USA with Imported Accessories - as it is stated on the packaging. The Pasta Pot itself is Made in the USA, but the lid and lock and drain accessory are made in China. Although other parts are made in China, you will find the quality and performance to be exceptional. Tramontina requires its plant in China to follow the same strict regulations, processes and quality guidelines that their plants in the USA and Brazil use to manufacture cookware. (2) It should not have a W X L which are different, since it is circular. What are the actual dimensions, and the depth of the pot only (not adding steamer and lid)? ANSWER: The pot holds a capacity of 6 quarts, and the "L x W x H" is part of a standardized form that is filled out to provide information on the website. Even though the pan is circular, the would normally be the diameter. Because this has a "lock and drain" attachment, the width includes the grip area of the attachment. The length is measured from the end of one handle to the other, and the height represents the overall height of the pot with the lid in place. - OVERALL Measurement: Product in Inches (L x W x H): 13.94 x 9.5 x 8.94 - BREAKDOWN of the measurements: - Lock and Drain Attachment - total width including grip area = 9.5" - Height of the Pot without the lid = 6.25" - Diameter of the Pot = 8.875 We hope this information is helpful.

    • A. 1) The data is normally entered by someone working for the manufacturer. Ideally, the country of origin should state: Made in USA, with Imported Accessories. The label on the packaging reflects this. In this particular case, the Pasta Pot itself, is Made in the USA, but the Lid and Lock and Drain unit are made in China. Although these pieces are made in China, you will find the quality and performance to be exceptional. Tramontina requires its plant in China to follow the same strict regulations, processes and quality guidelines that their plants in the USA and Brazil use to manufacture cookware. 2) Product in Inches (L x W x H): 13.94 x 9.5 x 8.94 The variables, L x W x H are part of a form that is sent out to everyone entering information for the site. Even though the pan is circular, we've used the diameter for the width of the pasta pot. The length (13.94") would probably be from the end of one handle to the other, the width (9.5") would be the diameter of the pot, and the height (8.94") would be the total height with the lid on the pot. We hope that you will find this information helpful.

    • A. This 6 Quart Lock and Drain Pasta Pot (#001422441) is oven-safe at temperatures up to 350°F (176°C). Even though the handles and lid are oven-safe, they will get hot in the oven and on the stovetop, particularly gas stoves where an open flame is used. Therefore, please use protective mitts when handling hot cookware. DO NOT USE UNDER AN OVEN BROILER UNIT. Also be sure to avoid exposing your glass lid to thermal shock. Here is some helpful information regarding thermal shock and tempered glass lids: UNDERSTANDING TEMPERED GLASS LIDS Industrial glass is tempered by a controlled thermal treatment process to increase its strength when compared with normal glass. Tempering creates balanced internal stresses which cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. Under normal usage, and by following the instructions below, tempered glass lids are safer for use within household kitchens. However, extra caution must be used when handling glass lids. When cleaning a glass lid, do not use abrasive cleansers, steel wool or coarse scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface of the glass lid, which may cause breakage over time. THERMAL SHOCK Avoid sudden temperature changes such as placing a hot lid on a cold surface or immersing a hot lid in cold water. Always let the lid cool before washing, as sudden temperature changes can break the glass. Do not place a cold lid from the refrigerator directly in a heated oven or on a hot pan. Allow the lid to reach room temperature prior to use. Immediately discontinue the use of a lid that has been damaged during transportation, accidentally dropped or shows signs of damage or scratching. Continuing to use a damaged tempered glass lid may cause shattering without warning, leading to possible injuries to users or bystanders. CAUTION: Oven-safe up to 350°F (176°C). Avoid sudden or severe temperature changes. Do not immerse hot lid in cold water. Thermal shock can cause a tempered glass lid to shatter. Immediately discontinue use of damaged lid.
