    Best bang for the buck
I have a few pieces of Tramontina and put next to my uber high end items there might be nuances that one might point out that aren't as refined but those uber high end pieces are three to five times the cost and of no concern to me. Of the pieces I have, the heating characteristics, handle comfort, and finish are very good. I have seen some reviews on various pieces that make me think the quality isn't the same across the whole line as evidenced by the difference between the 10" and 12" fry pan reviews. I am quite pleased with saute pans but the product line was available in my local store so I could get my hands on it before purchase but one of the biggest benefits of modern online purchasing is the review so here's my two cents worth.

    Lovely pan, but....
I really wanted to love this pan. It's beautiful, finished nicely... a good, big, sturdy pan. I'd heard very good things about this line of pans so thought I'd try it. Once I got the pan and tried it the first time, I found that it does, indeed, cook food as well as any other pan I've used, if not better. The problem was that, strictly following the use guidelines of using no more than medium heat and letting the pan heat to temperature before use, the pan bottom was slightly warped after one use, and warped even more after another use. Though troubling in itself, this is a definite problem with a flat cooktop. I took this pan back and got a replacement and the same exact thing happened with the second pan, as well. After one use, the bottom started warping. Not wanting to give up on this cookware line (I also got a large sauce pan that's worked out fine with no warping so far), I located another tri-ply 5qt deep saute pan on Ebay that was made by Tramontina in Brazil, rather than China, like the two I got from Walmart. The handles are slightly different, but they seem externally identical other than that. After one use, this pan hasn't warped at all, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I can't say for sure it's a Brazil vs. China difference, but I, for one, wish Walmart would charge a few more dollars and get back to the "made in Brazil" Tramontina pans.

    The Best Deep Skillet

It's named a "Sauté Pan" but in the real-world, cooking in the home it is a Deep Skillet with a wonderful lid. This pan, like all Tramontina cookware heats evenly; bottom & up the sides; holds the heat for fine-tune adjustments while cooking. I purchased a complete set of Tramontina SS Tri-Clad through WalMart which does not include this item so I made the leap and am so elated I did! As always the price (after surfing the www) was right @ WalMart. Cleaning this item is a breeze but the cook must remember this is SS and requires a different type cleaning process as to other cookware.

    "Great Pan & Lid!"

This is the most Amazing Fry Pan ever, you don't cook on High at all. I have an Electric stove. It Heats up in seconds on Medium, and holds the heat. So glad I did my Homework before I made this purchase. I could have spent way to much money on another set. This should cost much more. You can NOT beat this Pan, I've had it over a month now, and could not be Happier with it. Looks so Nice & Very Expensive! High Quality for the Price! You will Not be Sorry! Ta Say The Least! My Husband is an Amazing Cook, he is Very Happy with it!

    Awesome Deep Saute Pan!

I needed a new deep saute pan and I decided to check out the reviews of pans from America's Test Kitchen on PBS and online. They highly recommended this pan. This pan is great! I have a glass top electric stove and the pan heats evenly on the bottom. Great product for the price.

The best cookware I have used.

The Tramontina cookware is the best cookware I have ever used. It heats up quickly and evenly without need for high heat. It cleans up easily, even hard cooked on items with a little soaking. With the application of some 'Barkeepers Friend' it retains its high quality finish and shine. I am very pleased and have been using some pieces for over two years now with little notice of wear and no discoloration.

    Professional quality pan

It looked small (straight sides) but it holds the same amount as my 12" skillet. You really do have to let it heat up before you add a touch of oil, but after that it doesn't stick. Very pleased.

    Best large saute pan

The Tramontina line is outstanding. Not too heavy, but durable. I wish I would have purchased this pan years ago. It fits large amounts of food for entertaining. The high sides prevents spills. A must have for the kitchen if you like to cook!

    Great Value in Clad Cookware

I had been looking for a large deep tri-ply clad pan for a while. This brand was rated very well in a comparison against another well known tri-ply brand which I also have in my kitchen. In fact the differences in the cooking results are very small. The price differences however are enormous and most of us do not want to mortgage the house to finance decent cookware. The manufacturing quality is evident and the pan tolerates the dishwasher well. I expect these will be the last pans I ever need to purchase. It is not non-stick and you will need to use a bit more oil. Should things get stuck on, the best thing to do is either soak in hot water or put a bit of dish washing liquid and water in the pan and heat it up on the stove to loosen. The pan cooks evenly and goes into the oven easily without warping. The cooking results are more than satisfactory. I've successfully fried chicken with even cooking throughout, browned beef steaks, and combination dishes with vegetables and meat. All in all the distinctions between this pan and my more expensive pieces is price. Enjoy a good buy!

    Great pot for cooking.

Love this pot! Big enough and heavy enough.

    great pan

This pan is a great piece for the kitchen. It is large and heats evenly. I can get a nice sear on meat with this. I love it. It is heavy but you have the side handle to help.
