    Looks very nice

Though I haven't had a chance to use it yet I like the way it looks. It doesn't look cheap or poorly made. It's a little heavy but that's what any dutch oven is. I'm sure it's gonna be one of my favorite items in the kitchen

    Dutch Oven A+

Compares well with my Le Creuset in baking and stews. I made No-Knead bread and it did great even though the recipe says 5-6 qt. pot. I've made Boeuf Bourguignon, soups, and chili and they were all wonderful. Cleans well and looks beautiful. The lid handle can only go up to 400 degrees, but for $10 I bought a stainless steel knob and it does great. Or it can be wrapped in aluminum foil so don't let that keep you from purchasing this great product. Has made cooking fun.
Great weight, seals tight, great quality overall! One note to another reviewer, the lip of the oven and the lid rim are NOT black enamel on the 6.5 qt. size it is cast iron (I don't have the smaller one). As the instructions suggest on the underside of the label, they DO need to be seasoned in the oven for one hour.

    No-knead bread pot

I wanted an enamel over cast iron pot for no-knead bread and stews, but didn't want to pay an arm and leg (they raised the price of this one since I bought it). I actually bought four of these for the price of one of the major brand names. I have to wrap the knob in tin foil and will probably have to replace it at some point since it is not rated for 450º that I need to bake bread. It works great! I'd buy this brand again!

    wanted red, settled for green

I subscriube to Cooks.com and they rate cookware. This was a best buy, rated so alongside similar ones costing over $200.00! I have cooked with a plain cast iron dutch oven (about 100 years old) and wanted to try a porcelon coated one. I have not been disappointed, it is above excellent! Well worth the price..the only drawback is that I wanted red, but the green in growing on me. It is just the right size for a meal for 4-6 people. This is a keeper!

    Best Dutch oven ever

This Dutch oven was rated the best and most economically priced by a nationally recognized website. And after watching the Julie & Julia movie where they use a Dutch oven extensively I decided to give it a try. The Tramontina Dutch oven has been superb no matter what I cook in it. Granted, it is heavy even empty but this is partly why it works so well. French Onion Soup, Burgundy Beef Tips, Potato Soup, Sunday Venison Roast and Blueberry Dumplings all come out awesome using this Dutch oven. And it's a great price for gift-giving. Now I'd like to get the bigger one for bigger family dinners.

    Returned the product

I immediately returned the 3.5 Qt dutch oven because it did not sit flat on my glass top stove (or any other flat surface). The writing (label) on the bottom of the pot extended beyond the surrounding flat bottom causing the pot to wobble significantly. In short, most of the bottom surface of the pot did not touch the stove top. Quality control is questionable. It would perhaps work fine on a gas stove.

Small one isn't as large as the big one

Previously owned the 6.5 Qt. Tramontina dutch oven, which we love. We bought a second home in Florida and decided we needed to buy a dutch oven for our home in FL. Since we're empty nesters, we thought the smaller oven would suit our needs better. Wrong, we cook for other empty nesters as well and need the larger oven. Prepared Coq Au Vin and really didn't have enough room to cook for 8 people. We ordered the 6.5 Qt. size. Both dutch ovens are easy to clean and are able to sear the meat which is what we want. Con is the weight of the product, but we'll put up with it considering the cost of All-Clad S.S.

    Great Price

I have only used this pot once so I really can't say if it is durable, but I am very pleased with it so far. It is the perfect size for making artisan bread in and the crust was delicious. I paid twice as much for my other pot I bought before and it doesn't cook any better that this one did.

    This is a good product

This is a very good product if you follow exactly what Tramontina company in Texas tells you to do. I called the company about seasoning this pan and they told me to only put cooking oil on the black outside rims of both the lid and the pot and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. If you place cooking oil on the white areas of this pan, you will have a brown gluey substance all over your pan and this will ruin the pan. I have so far used this pan to make spagetti with italian sausage and meat sauce, a wonderful meatloaf which is the best meatloaf I've ever eaten. To clean this pan, let it soak in hot water overnight. Do not use a SOS/Brillo pad to clean this pot. On the whole a good buy. If you have a glass top stove, do not slide it across the glass. Lift the pot up to move. My meatloaf browned beautifully in the oven in this pan and had more robust flavor with this pan. Cons is the pan is very heavy since it is cast iron and I wish the pot had a side rest to put the lid on. On the whole a good pan.
