I spent hours on the phone with tracfone as they were trying to make the Rebel 4 purchased online work. The third day they advised me to return the phone to local Walmart for a replacement, which I did. The replacement phone also was a problem until I was connected to a representative who was apparently more knowledgeable. After a short time the phone was working. He couldn't give a reason why all the others failed to make it work. I've been using the phone now for two weeks and it's great.

Problems with tracfone support.
$30 for a very good smart phone. Thin and light weight. A lot of features, most I deleted just want a phone.
big screen with colorful display, easy to navigate. I purchased for my mother and she is very satisfied
After research, reading all the reviews, and the manual online (you can read for free), it was easy to figure out that most (if not all) of the "negative" reviews were due to user error and not the phone itself, so I got and glad I did.
Once I transferred my service, including minutes & data etc., which went smoothly online, and did my initial phone set up, the Rebel 4 is super easy to use. My contacts were transferred automatically by signing into it with my google account, so as long as your contacts are synchronized, they'll be there.
Texting is so much smoother than my previous phone, much bigger screen, nicer camera (higher megapixels), and overall a welcome upgrade from my previous 3 year old basic Tracfone. If you don't have a synchronized google account, you may need to upload your contacts by connecting your phone to your computer, or manually enter them. If you transfer your micro sd card from your old phone to your new one, you'll have all the data from that too.
Wifi and data features work great, as long as people know how to properly adjust their settings, but be aware to wait until your phone is fully activated which takes about a whole day, after that your data will be available, but your wifi will work instantly. Otherwise, if you're still having issues, I recommend consulting the manual that you can find online for free by searching the question you have and phone model. Also, youtube videos are helpful too.
It's all about learning how to adjust your settings, including eliminating apps that cause popup ads, also try the malwarebytes app to keep it clean, avoid clicking on "ads" since that's where the viruses & malware is. I don't get pop ups on my phone since I added an ad-blocker app, that's really all people need to do.
Any app, including the facebook app, can just be deleted if you don't want it, it's no reason to give the phone an unfair negative review. It's obvious people get frustrated when they don't understand how to properly work the phone. I personally think it's a very good smartphone and may purchase another one in the future, hopefully the price will drop a bit more first (hint hint Tracfone). Thank you.
