My teenagers have been Total Wireless customers for about a yr now, and it's been great for them. They share the $60/mo plan, and are always accessible. They have more than enough data, and coverage is great for us. So finally my husband and I are making the switch from Straight Talk to Total Wireless in Oct. 2016. My ST service has been awful. The ONLY BAD THING about TW is the phone selection offered. It's not bad, and gets better all the time, but it'd be so nice to have a larger selection. Plus I've found in the past that just because a phone is CDMA unlocked, and you buy the proper SIM card, it doesn't mean you'll get any coverage at all. That's my current problem with ST. I have an amazing phone (bought it unlocked and put in ST CDMA SIM card), but I get NO phone service! That's why I'm going to get a new TW phone and try the 4 shared lines plan.

ROTTEN
It seems the longer I use Total (4 months now) the worse the service gets. Between the non working website that doesn' t update data usage to the trumped up fake data usage when it does work. Support is well known to be digusting between the lousy support connections and the thick accents that always have you wait again and again for the magic two minutes and in the end you need a seperate phone phone other than the one you called them on to get further answer's....that if their diagnostic tools are working (which they never are)...it's always a dead end. The reason their data service is so erratic is that they are low to NO priority service which means that their provider or backbone (Verizon) gets first dibs on data not you. Needless to say the tradeoff between aggrivation and money saved just isn't adding up....lord knows we all have enough aggrivation in our lives without more sub standard (junk) to clutter our minds. Problem is, in this industry this is the norm which tells me that enough of this internet scam is enough....time to move on. I could have made this review in two simple words...IT SUCKS!

Total Wireless ecard

This was an easy download and the service coverage is excellent because the service provider is Verizon.

Total wireless service plans

Much needed as for we purchased total wireless phones from Walmart whom now does not provide their service plans in store, so please do not discontinue.

Great plan

Being tired of the constant overcharges from Verizon who we had been with since 1998 I shopped around and found Total Wireless using the Verizon towers but at a much better price. I was able to keep my basic Samsung Convoy 2 and bought my wife the LG Ultimate 2 for her smart phone as she only had a basic phone also but wanted a smart phone. With Verizon we had only 500 min a month, that is all. Now we have 5 gb of data and unlimited calls and texts. We did not text or data before but will now. We had a family plan with 2 lines with Verizon. Important...... when you have 2 or more lines under a share plan with a carrier and want to transfer the numbers to a new carrier do not cancel the old plan. In order for all the numbers to get transferred you need transfer the secondary numbers first, not the number the billing is under with the old carrier, and then once the secondary numbers have voice mail set up which confirms they are transferred then transfer the billing number as the last one. This may have to be done the second day. When you transfer the billing or primary number your old carrier is going to cancel your contract and all numbers will have been transferred. If you transfer the main billing number first you will most like lose your secondary numbers and most likely will not be recovered. I made the transfer this way and everything worked perfectly. You will also need your billing account number from one of your old statements with the old carrier and the pin for billing, which unless you have changed it is usually the last four of your ssn. I feel alot of the problems people are having is because they did not know this and went about it the wrong way. Before switching I made about 8-10 calls to Total Wireless customer service with questions and was satisfied they were answered correctly. I also questioned about 4 Walmart employees at length with similar questions and they were also answered to my satisfaction before I made the switch. We are very pleased with the new service. The L G Ultimate 2 works great. Wi-fi works great when at home. Speeds under data does not seem to be a problem as we are not streaming shows, etc. We also will have great coverage as we did when we under Verizon. Also being on prepaid if I elect to change at any time there is no penalty as opposed to a 2 yr contract with a major carrier. We are paying after taxes $ 12.00 a month less but went from only 500 min a month to 5 gb of data and unlimited calls and texts. Would def recommend it. Just go about the transfer with the above info in mind and you should have no problems. Ask alot of questions to customer service if you have unanswered questions.

total wireless service - easy switch

This was an easy switch to Total Wireless; moved one phone over and bought a new phone. Service was prompt and professional and phones both worked immediately. Service seems good.
