Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure game. Players collect train cards that enable them to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who can fulfill their Destination Tickets by connecting two distant cities, and to the player who builds the longest continuous railway. So climb aboard for some railroading fun and adventure. This is a fantastic family game. it simple enough for children to understand, yet parents can still be challenged. It isn't a money game or one that requires reading, so even younger children can enjoy it without it becoming tires some. A game can last about 30-45 minutes, so you can play a few games at a setting. This was a gift for our son's 8th Birthday. We played it three times as a family before the kids went to bed an twice with just the adults after. If you enjoy board games this is a must for your collection.

Great game
This is a fun game for families and/or friends. My 8 and 10 year old grandaughters layed it with me and begged for one of their own. Settlers of Catan is our favorite, when time is not a limit. This is our favorite when there is less time to play. Both are addictive!

One of the greatest board games ever!

I played many board games as a kid and most of them came down to luck. You got stuck on one path where dice or a spinner would randomly decide you fate. Ticket to Ride is not one of those games. Players collect cards to claim routes, and longer routes get you more points. I love the fact that it is easy to learn (recommended ages 8+), but players still need to use strategy in order to win the game. You can try to complete routes to make your connected path longer, or you can claim routes that interfere with the routes that your opponents want to claim. Having more players also affects strategy, because you have to try and claim the routes you need as soon as possible. Bottom line, I love this game and recommend it to everyone.

Surprisingly addictive.

Looked all over for this game at a reasonable price. After a long long search I realized I just had to buck up and shell out. Wish I hadn't have waited as it is worth every penny. It is a good mix of strategy and luck in a format simple enough to allow the kids a fair chance. The 12 year old wants to play it as much as his video games and the 8 year old loves it too. This will be a family staple for years to come. Giddyup!

Fun game

This is a fun game. Pieces are good quality. Everything has a place in the box so it's not scattered all over the bottom of the box. Easy to set up and start a new game. Easy to learn the rules with plenty of strategy for the casual gamer.

Great family night game

My 14 year old son asked for this for Christmas. Five of us played and it only took a couple turns to figure it out. It took us about an hour and a half to connect our routes and get around the board.

Fun game for family and friends

This is not a quick game - around 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours average. We play with my parents (in their mid- 80's) and with friends and our grown children. Unlike Settlers of Catan (same maker), two people can play alone. I believe learning curve is very similar to basic Catan and equally fun! Save lots of money by ordering online at walmart and picking up at store.

Wonderful game!

I love the U.S. version of this game. I love that we can learn geography while playing a game. What a concept!

Challenging Board Game

Will be given as a Christmas gift, but looking over the contents and description we're anxious to get our granddaughters involved.

A game for everyone

It is a great game for all ages, my husbands does not play games but he enjoys this game

Great game

Kind of like the new york ticket to ride, but definitely best for family or more people. -it took a bit of time to get here, otherwise great product!
