This is a darling Sesame Street book that I remember from my childhood. The story is simple, meaning that even a small child can begin to learn the words. It stars Grover; we love him and he is not scary. And the story is funny. Especially for a small child still learning motor skills, the book encourages little tasks that "test" the child's "strength," and make him or her feel strong and important. I love this book. I still have mine from when I was child; I bought this copy for a friend's baby.

"The Monster at the End of This Book," the bestselling Sesame Street book of all time, is an exciting and highly original tale that children will want to read again and again. By all accounts, this book is a favorite among toddlers and adults alike. Generations will recall their first time reading along as lovable, furry old Grover begs the reader not to turn the page . . . for a monster is at the end of the book! But, of course, the monster is none other than Grover himself.

A classic, not to be missed.

Very Poor Qaulity
I received the book but the cover was much smaller then the pages. The pages hang about 4 millimeters past the cover.

This is an old favorite

I originally purchased this book well over 30 years ago for my son. We both enjoyed it and after reading it to him over and over again (he was probably 2 years old at the time) he began to be able to recognize the words. So this was actually the first book he ever read. I recently purchased this copy for him for Father's Day so he could share it with his children. This is a great story and fun book.

Great book for kids

This book is so helpful in today's society. Kids need to know that all monster aren't mean AND also that you can't judge someone by the way their appearance.

Best book ever

I bought this book and the second book for my pregnant cousin so her and her daughter can enjoy these books as much as my daughter did.

The BEST!

This is one of my favorite books! Children will ask over and over again for me to read this book! I read it to my children and now, my grandchildren!
