The Heroin Diaries was incredible!

From his day to day living with drugs to insights into how he kicked them, Nikki Sixx bared his soul in The Heroin Diaries. This book is an amazing look into the life of Nikki Sixx during the 80s, when drugs were all the rage among the stars. His diary entries while high on drugs show a whole new side to what we knew of the Motley Crue drug phase. The battle he waged against (and lost to) drugs during that time was so hard to read about, because it made you feel like you were there, feeling it with him. This book made me laugh at times, cry other times, and made me want to go back in time to try to help him the whole time. It was an emotional roller coaster just reading. I can't imagine what it must have been like for him to live it.

Awesome book! Definitely worth buying and reading!

I've been a fan of Motley Crue since the 1980's, and knew that the band had a "typical" rock and roll lifestyle. But until I read this book, I never knew the demons that Nikki was dealing with all these years. This look into his life was a real eye-opener to the kind of person Nikki was when he was on drugs, and the person he became when he kicked the addictions. It really shows how little fans actually know about their favorite celebrity sometimes. This book made me appreciate Nikki even more. He has really turned his life around. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to deal with any kind of addiction, whether it is drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or whatever. In my opinion, this shows me that if Nikki can beat his addiction, anyone can. I've been told that this book is placed in drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers as a requirement for part of the treatment. Which I think is a wonderful idea. I've seen countless people post comments on Nikki's Facebook page where people have talked about how much this book has changed their lives for the better. And has helped them with kicking their drug and alcohol addictions. Despite the graphic language in the book, I would recommend this book to anyone (whether they've ever been on drugs or alcohol or not). This book, and Nikki Sixx are both very inspiring. :)

this book is the greatest one ive ever read. It takes you and puts you right into the life of Nikki and all the interviews within it were all amazing!

Too Flashy

The pages are tinted black and red, with splashes of red dots for good measure. Difficult to read, and much less to care. A rock star that keeps heavily into his addiction, the bad company he keeps, his selfish and destructive behavior, and overall a tedious book to be able to read, with so many graphics thrown in for a special effect. A diary such as this leads to boredom, for the excesses of the rich rock stars can only be appreciated so much. Not being a prude, but when a book is boring, well, it is boring. 3 Stars.
If you are a Nikki Sixx/Motley Crue fan you will enjoy this book. I loved it. It was a open and honest look at a year in the life of a drugged out rockstar.
