I have read many books on WWI, covering numerous facets of the war. However, this is the first book I have read which exclusively covered Salonika and the Balkans in general. I found this book very interesting and informative on a piece of WWI very seldom covered. From previous readings I was led to believe that little or nothing was going on in that theater of the war. Alan Palmer changed my opinion. While clearly not the Western Front, there was more going on in the Balkans than generally reported. I commend Palmer for a fine job, and recommend this work to everyone interested WWI. Particularly those looking for information on seldom covered theaters of the war. Well Done!!
