I bought this stroller for my 19 month old son because I was tired of using our bulky Graco travel system stroller, and the Cosco umbrella stroller we were given was horrible. I love that this goes to 50 lbs because my son had always been big for his age, so I know we will get plenty of use from it. I recently compared this stroller to a Maclaren Volo and I have to say I am very pleased with the overall product. Pros: Relatively light and folds up to a decent size for more trunk space in my car Steers and rides very smoothly Handle height is good for both myself (5'4") and my husband (6'), which means we dont kick it when we walk - yay! Handles are also comfortable to grip. Easy to put together - I did it myself, with the "help" of a toddler Colors are pretty gender neutral - I would use this for a boy or a girl Cons: Doesnt recline much - ok for us because my toddler does not sleep in the stroller anymore Basket is very small and hard to get to, especially if the seat is reclined The canopy is small and fixed in place, so not a ton of shade Has a 5-point harness which is good for this type of stroller so the kids dont lean forward and fall out, but I would have liked a 3-point harness option as well.

This stroller is really heavy. It is twice the weight of the Mutsy lightweight stroller we ended up purchasing. The basket was difficult to access because of the cross bar in the back and it was trickier to fold up than the Mutsy. I did pretty thorough research and found that this one and the Mutsy were best for taller parents. I would agree, that is a taller stroller, but I needed a stroller and I could fold quickly, easily, and carry around an airport with a 3 year old and 7 month old in tow. So, this one got returned and I kept the Mutsy.

We have the First Years Jet Stroller (Retro Geo Red) that was purchased August 2011. We now need another the same but they dont seem to be available other than through Wayfair. This one appears to be identical. IS there a significant difference?

  • A. If you are wondering the actual differences between the jet and ignite here you go! The Ignite has sturdier fabric overall and a more structured back to the seat, there is actually a metal x behind the fabric so it is more solid like a full size stroller not like an umbrella stroller, a inch wider seat base, almost 2 inch taller back of seat, the recline is about 5 inches and the locking front wheels for terrain. It has one parent cup holder and a zippered pouch with mesh pockets, but its shade does not rotate down, solid plastic grip handles, and 14 lb...I thought it was a great by for the convenience of a big stroller in a compact size. We LOVE IT!!!! The jet's fabric feels flimsier, the shade is smaller, but does rotate down, seat is 1 inch smaller, it has 3 very visible vertical back of seat supports so it is more like the support of an umbrella stroller, the front wheels do not lock for terrain and don't have as much of a "tread" on them, the recline is only about 2 inches, the parent tray does have 4 spots for drinks with a smaller zippered pouch and mesh pockets, foam covered handles, and 11 lbs. Both have the same under storage enough for a small bag and a 50lb limit. Overall the ignite is just made better! As long as you don't mind the shade not rotating down, I would go with the ignite especially if you are looking for bigger kids!
