I bought this book after meeting the author. I wanted to like this book. But I found it lacking in several things. There is no development of when and where this takes place. Would a contemporary scene describe the clicking of a typewriter in the background? There was a lot of public transport in what seemed like a small town. The town of "Riverpoint," just where is it, which country? And the descriptions of the Church and the priests seemed very one dimensional. The author had told me he was an atheist, but still, with good research, even the religious overtones could come off with more authenticity. I am not even going to pass this on.
