This book is excellent b/c it causes you to put things on paper, to think them through, to self reflect and to be cognizant of your food choices. This is not a diet book -- you can use this book with any diet (the book asks you to pick 2 -- one as your primary and the 2nd as a back up if the first one doesn't work). This book is a cognitive therapy book that has daily exercises which help you to get to the real reasons why diets have failed in the past and why you have the relationship with food that you do. I highly recommend it. FYI - It is not a quick read. The exercises should be done before you move on to the next and you must do them all in order. It is worth it!
