Received this device last night and had it installed in minutes. I almost gave it four stars because the connection instructions are off a little bit as they use pictures and not words. If you cannot program this device via the WPS button you have to connect the provided CAT5 cable from the device to your laptop or desktop. The image doesn't indicate using the CAT5 cable and as the device broadcasts as an available Wi-Fi router you may as I did connect to it that way instead. This will not work, use the CAT5 and physically cable it. Once this is done, load the provided CD and in four easy steps you are connected! Honestly though it works great once connected and easily doubled my WIFI range. I installed a WI-FI analyzer and mine is now better than all my neighbors. I'd like to add that the packaging is amazing and I felt I was opening a VERY classy and high end product. The device itself is beautiful and I don't mind it a bit plugged in and visible on my wall, absolutely stunning workmanship. The device has several easily seen lights on front and you should see 2.4 and 5 GHZ lit to indicate you have good connectivity. Place this device about halfway between your WI-FI router and the location that needs a better signal. Great product and very reasonably priced.

    Disappointed.
This is a review of the Wifi Range Extender AC 750 RE 200 by TP-Link. This is supposed to boost wifi network signals throughout your home. I was looking forward to receiving this to possibly get stronger Wireless signal on the back deck. It has dual band speeds up to 750 megabits per second, aka mbps. It has an Ethernet port on the bottom for connecting wired devices to your existing wireless. Compatible with 802.11 b/g/n and 802.11 ac devices. Very compact, just plug into an electric outlet. Does not block lower outlet. This is a very attractive device. Comes in an attractive box. Reminds me of an Apple product with its packaging. Also included is a RJ45 Ethernet Cable, a quick installation guide, and a User Manual Resource CD. It has a Smart Signal Indicator for the best possible location to get best signal. It does get warm being plugged in. It has a 2 year warranty. Comes with two touch Setup. Uses WPS as one option where you can pair it with your router, with a simple touch of your routers' WPS and simple touch with the TP-Link Range Extender WPS. The other method is to launch a web browser to one of their links. I used both methods.. First tried the WPS method for a quick setup. I could never get it to work at all with that method. So I tried the other method. I did get further with this method, but not too far. I found the directions a little confusing on the web browser method. Power on, then disconnect Ethernet connection it reads. But I never read where I was to plug the Ethernet cable into my computer. After several attempts, I figured it out. It would show on my computer that it was connected to my wireless network, but could never get it to work when I chose this connection on my Iphone 6 Plus or my Ipad. I would get a message "cannot connect to network." This happened every time but once. The one time it worked, it wanted me to log in with my password. But even then it wouldn't connect to the network. Overall, the TP-Link is an attractive device but doesn't function as it claims. After 5 days of researching and many attempts to get this working, only to fail. I found the setup to be extremely frustrating and I am known to be a patient person. I even called technical support six times only to get disconnected. So after all of this I cannot recommend the TP-Link AC 750 Wireless Range Extender.

    Nice extender!

First off I will say I am pretty good at computers.. Not a professional but better than most people. The set-up instructions look easy and have nice pictures to go along with the directions. I used option 1 and everything was going fine, but I was impatient and hit my refresh button and everything messed up. I wasn't allowed to get back on the tp-link setup website without a password at first, but then it let me when I tried the next day. It was frustrating, but it worked out in the end and was probably my own fault. We live on the top of a hill and our internet wifi connection is usually about 3 out of 5 bars. Once the tp-link extender was connected through option 1 I was able to move it further away from the router in order to extend our existing service. This really helped our signal! Now we usually have 4 bars and also 3 bars in areas where signal was normally poor. We have a large house and we live in an acre of land. This allowed our wifi to work outside the house and further out than it ever had. I was really pleased because so many things run on wifi these days, like our baby monitor! I used to have the problem of the monitor saying no signal when I was in the laundry room, but now no more! This was exactly what we needed. It's allowed us to be anywhere in our house and have a normal signal, no more weak signals. Also when you relocate your extender there are helpful lights on the front to let you know what distance will provide a good signal. This seems like a quality product so far!

    Give it a Try!

First of all, let me say I am NOT tech savvy at all. When I first requested this from the Sparks team, I was hoping that it would make it easier for me to get WIFI reception in our back room or in our garage. I received this and was a little nervous about trying to connect it with my home router. I read and reread the instructions and when I first tried option one, I could not figure out just how to do it, thus the Not tech savvy I mentioned earlier. I was so frustrated, I packed it back into the box and sent off an email to the review team on how I could return it, sure that I was too stupid to figure it out. Anyway, I decided that I must be able to figure it out and I knew there was a second way to connect which involved simply pressing the WPS button on my router, if it came with one, And the WPS button on the extender. I checked my router for the WPS button and found there Was one, so that is the option I chose and it worked perfectly the first time I tried it. Easy peasy.... When I would take my tablet to the back or into the garage to fiddle with while I was on my treadmill, I had maybe one bar in the back room and 0 bars in the garage. Now, thanks to the TP-LINK range extender, I have a full set on bars in both places. Very pleased with the results and also that I did not send the item back because of my frustration. I would definitely recommend this item. The pictures don't do justice, simply before and after installation. One bar vs five bars......Nice.....

    WiFi Extender Works Wonders

The TP-LINK R200 AC750 WiFi Range Extender does just what it claims to do - it extends the WiFi. There are two ways to accomplish this and both are listed in the "Quick Installation Guide" that comes with the extender. One way is by using a web browser and the other way is by using a WiFi Protected Setup (WPS). The instructions are very clear to understand and there are diagrams to help those of us who are more visual learners. There is also a toll-free number that offers tech support. My family installed the TP-LINK WiFi Range Extender very easily by using the WiFi Protected Setup. This involved a simple 3-step process - Power On (the range extender), Connect (to current WiFi router), and Relocate (to another area of house to extend current range). There are more detailed directions in the Installation Guide but the main directions are as mentioned above. In our case, our WiFi range has nearly doubled with the use of the TP-LINK R200 AC750. Although we like our house, we really enjoy being outdoors when the weather is nice. This product gives us the opportunity to spend more time outdoors engaged in activities we enjoy. We are now able to stream videos and connect to social media from our backyard and in our hammock. (This would normally use up our cellular data.) If you are in the market for a product that extends the reach of your WiFi, this may be just what you're looking for - my family is very satisfied with it.

Easy to use, helps fill in places

The set up was pretty easy. It was about the same as any other router. Also, once it is set up, all you have to do is unplug it, then plug it in somewhere else. It automatically rejoins the same network, and your devices connect right back up to it. My office is on the opposite end of the rest of the house, away from the main modem / router. I use wifi to connect my pc, and just about every other device in the house. We have a NetGear Nighthawk as our main router, so connectivity was never much of an issue, but I'll admit connecting is a little bit smoother than it used to be. Having this up helped with the random declines in wifi range and kept me logged on and working without any interruption. I also like the fact that it's white so it blends into the wall nicely and does not stand out. I do not see this as "doubling" the range of your wifi as promoted, but it will smooth any rough patches or weak zones in your existing coverage. Like any wifi, be sure to put a password on it to protect yourself from freeloaders.

Works great and is SUPER Easy to setup!

I used the AC 750 WIFI Range Extender to extend the range on my Netgear router, which is located in an upstairs media room to the downstairs area, which is about 2500sq ft. The range extender has two easy setup options; one being the Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS and the second option is using your web browser. In order to use the WPS option, your router must support WPS. The EXTREMELY EASY to follow instructions included, will have you up and running in 5 minutes or less, however should you run into any problems with the setup TP-Link offers unlimited Technical Support 24hours a day 7 days a week . Included in the box is: the AC750 WIFI Range Extender, Ethernet Cable, Quick installation Guide and a User's Manual Resource CD. Setting this device up was very easy, I had to use the web browser option as the WPS set up didn't work for me. However after going to TP-Link's website: http://tplinkreapter.net and following the directions listed on the website I was up and running in about 3 minutes or less. This WIFI extender is Compatible with 802.11b/g/n and 802.11ac Wi-Fi devices and should connect to most compatible routers without any problems. The extender has two bands, 2.4G and 5G these settings are set based on your router capabilities. Make sure you place your Extender about halfway between your router and wireless devices for optimum performance. Also to minimize wireless interference, place your Extender in an open area away from other Bluetooth devices, cordless phones and microwaves. The Extender has no on/ off button and no external antennas… it's basically a plug in and go device. If everything is connected properly the LED indicators on the front of the extender will be solid green. There is also an Ethernet port on the Extender which can be used to connect wired devices to your wireless network. There is also a reset button located on the bottom of the device should the need arise for you to do so. This Extender had a pretty decent range and for the most part did what it was suppose to do. There was no interference with the Sprint signal booster or The Xfinity voice modem connected to the Router which was definitely a plus. The Android devices and WIFI Blu-ray players connected to the Extender with no issues; however, for whatever reason, My daughter's two Apple devices kept dropping the signal from the Range Extender, but had no problem connecting to the Netgear range booster we were using prior to receiving the TP-Link Extender. This could have been an error on the user's part as none of the other devices experienced this problem. However my daughter's room was the furthest from the extender, which could have been the reason for the poor connection. Overall I think this is a great product with a great price tag compared to the other Range Extenders in its class and it comes with a TWO Year Warranty which is definitely an added bonus.

    TP-LINK RE200 AC750 WiFi Range Extender

TP-LINK RE200 AC750 WiFi Range Extender is a good idea if it works for you. This item would be useful but for me it did not extend my WiFi. It connected and synced just fine with the router, but after a few moments it would disconnect from my router and the lights would begin flashing. It says it is supposed to expand your existing WiFi coverage with next-generation 11AC WiFi technology and creates faster access, this very well may be true for others in different areas but for me it was not able to do what it claims it can. The description says, it works with any standard WiFi router and creates stronger dual-band connections in hard-to-reach areas, allowing you to enjoy seamless wireless coverage throughout your home or office. I think that is possible but in my particular area it was not able to help extend my coverage. The design of the unit is great for easy installation and it very decorative white so that it will blend into any decor. It is also equipped with an extra outlet for connecting other electrical devices. This unit would allow you to use the ether net cord that comes with the unit to use other devices and it plugs right into the range extender. Not a good fit for me but I would recommend it.

Great range extender for Wi-Fi Network

In my home, my main router is set up in my basement, but by installing the TP-Link RE200 Wi-Fi Range Extender on the main level of the house, I now have much better signal strength. The main device the extender is needed for is a tablet, but this will work on gaming consoles, computers, and mobile phones-all at the same time, as long as they are hooked up to your wireless network. It just takes literally seconds to set up, then just plug into an outlet (you can even use the signal indicator to find the best location), and you are good to go. On the tablet, I went from 1-2 bars of signal strength to full instantly. It has an ethernet port on the bottom and includes a RJ45 ethernet cable as well as an installation guide and a user manual resource CD. You do need to make sure you have the proper set-up requirements in order to use and once plugged in the device it is slightly warmer than most plug-in devices to the touch. Overall a great product that is easy to install and works wonderfully.

    Good Product, Poor Instructions

Unboxing is simple and straight forward but setting it up was not. I handed it to my husband to complete and he was initially pretty frustrated. After giving the directions several once overs he finally got the hang of it and was able to set it up. We live in a single floor ranch so do not face the upstairs / downstairs issues some might have. We put it on the opposite side of the house though to extend the wifi to the better cover those rooms and devices. We have multiple wifi capable devices like a tvs, blurays, game systems, computers, etc. We noticed the signal strength was stronger and downloading content was easier than it was before. We then lost internet during a storm and had to have our router replaced. Since then we have not been able to figure out how to change the network to our new network. It is still broadcasting our old network, even though it is no longer hooked up and has been removed. The directions do no address how to change the network to a new one so this was quite a disappointment. It works well and we would have given it a five star review but we have been unable to use it since the network change. I was hoping to figure it out before leaving the review but time constraints do not allow me to wait any longer.

    Nice design- difficult install

Although it is sleek and slim in design I couldn't get it to work! I consider myself pretty technologically savvy so if you are not terrific with gadgets this extender may not be the model for you. There are two methods of installation for this extender; one is with using a web browser and the second is using your "WPS" button on your router. As I have no "WPS" button on my router, I was forced to use the web browser method of installation. This particular model can also be used as an adapter for connecting other devices (such as your Wii or smart TV) to your network. ( I did not attempt this method as I was having a great deal of problems with installation of the device as whole.) My computer recognized the extender and tried to connect to it so I followed the troubleshooting guidelines and still had problems. Fortunately, the technical support team for the TP-Link company was great to deal with and we were finally able to get this extender running. As far as distance that the extender operated with I was very pleased and can now work on my computer at the opposite end of the house without a delay or disruption in internet speed. Again, this extender is very sleek in design and doesn't have any annoying antenna to contend with (as other brands do) so I could "hide" it easily. Overall I am happy with the signal that is provided but I do wish installation would have been simpler.

    1. That's a bit of a stretch, but you might be able to pull it off with this. My shop is about 100 feet from my house and I can get 4 bars of coverage BEHIND that building. You would need to plug this in on an outlet in the same house as the router, and at whatever outlet is the closest to the other building you are trying to reach. For instance, mine is at an outlet at the very back of my house near a big window, with a clear view of the back building.

    2. Dear Customer, We do not advise implementing our RE200 for this scenario. For proper functionality, the RE200 must be placed in a location halfway between the main router and your home. The ideal location may also be determined by viewing the 2.4 and 5 LED indicators, green indicates a strong connection whereas red signifies a weak or poor signal. Due to the distance requirements of this setup, we recommend our TL-WA830RE, http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-10_TL-WA830RE.html, to serve as a more viable solution for your application. Although the 830REs functionality is identical to the RE200, this product is superior in performance and wireless coverage thus allowing more flexibility with deciding on a proper location to install the extender. If you have any further questions and/or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at the number or email listed below. Best Regards!
