    Works Great, After A Struggle

The T-Mobile SIM Kit from Walmart has a barcode on the back that must be scanned in order for the kit to read as "active" with T-Mobile. If it is not scanned, you cannot activate that SIM card. When you order online, don't expect it to be scanned correctly. My advice is have it delivered for pickup from a store, because they know the details of the barcode. I got mine shipped to my house, and had to go back into a Walmart store in order to fix it (T-Mobile recommended going to a T-Mobile Store, but Walmart was closer for me). What we did in the end was I "returned" the kit and "purchased" it right back, only this time the associate scanned the activation barcode properly. Since it was marked as a purchase, the SIM became active and I had no more trouble. The catch is that the activation barcode must be scanned in place of the UPC barcode upon checkout. So if you face this issue, don't call anyone -- Walmart and T-Mobile will both blame the other. Just use this method and you can activate your service online easily with no problems.

Product is great. Service, not so much.

This is the lowest price I’ve found when researching a plan with generous data allotment, unlimited texts, and a useful amount of call time. Very grateful to Walmart and TMobile for pairing up on this offer. And yes, if you already have TMobile, you can still use this sim card -- Just call them after you’ve purchased and installed the sim and they will transfer your account over to this one (because this plan is only available at Walmart). It took a couple days, but it works. And no, you do not need to buy another phone if you have an unlocked phone like I do. As for the service, I opted for in-store pick up that said next day on the website and on the order. Over a week later, I finally received the kit. No store had them in stock, so I was stuck waiting. Luckily the tracking was correct, so I could watch as it shipped via ground across the country, but I was without a phone in the meantime. Hopefully it was just because the product is new and this will not be a constant for other customers. Good luck!

great deal. setup/activation a bit confusing.

Bought this sim kit to use with a new off-contract tmobile phone from bb. I wasn't excited about any of the compatible phones from walmart, so I bought an off-contract phone from bb. Installed the sim, activated the phone via phone call. It is a bit confusing to get the right plan by calling for activation, BUT the plan is in there .. the $30 plan. Just make sure you listen to ALL the available services. Once I activated with the correct plan I was further confused about the kit containing "$30 toward airtime" since there was no additional info or "refill" code. I thought I might have to go and buy a refill. But, the $30 IS in there. If you create a "my t-mobile" account you will see that you are paid in full until the next month . . . so the $30 is applied to the account. So . . this is a great deal for someone wanting mobile data on the cheap... a great option for a childs account/phone.

    Best kept secret!

I have been a happy T-mobile customer for a very long time. But, lately I have been looking at ways to cut back on expenses. After months of researching plans from different providers I couldn't find one where I could lower my cost and keep my data usage. Then one day I saw this T-mobile sim kit and I thought it would be perfect if I didn't have to buy a new phone. After more research I found out you don't need a new phone just the sim kit. I ordered the sim kit online and picked it up in the Walmart store. The next day I called up T-mobile and was able to have my phone number transferred over to my new plan. So far this plan has been great...I've saved $25 and gained 3GB of data usage. I'm not a heavy phone talker so 100 minutes of voice calls is enough for me.

    Easy Peezy and Awesome!!

This is the SIM kit to get if you want the Tmobile $30 prepaid plan for 5GB data, unlimited text, and 100 talk mins. I was looking to move one of our phones from Straight talk to this Tmo plan and stumbled upon this kit. It was amazing value and a no-brainer purchase! Free Shipping to store was super fast in 3 days. Kit comes with a Tmobile nano SIM, activation code, and 2 SIM adapters for nano-to-micro, and nano-to-standard SIMs. I used it with an unlocked iphone 6 that takes nano sim so didn't need the sim adapter. Did the SIM Activation online at 7 AM with number port from straight talk, and everything was transferred by 4 PM the same day. Very happily surprised at the simplicity and speed of setup and porting considering there are many discussions online about how difficult it is to port-out of Straight Talk and much confusion on ST account # and Pin to use during porting. We were on BYOD program with ST: only the SIM was from ST but the phone was our own, so perhaps it was easier because of that? In porting the number on Tmo activation page I used last 15 digits of SIM ID as account # and left the PIN field blank because we had no PIN with ST, and entering pin was optional on Tmo activation page. Had no issues whatsoever in porting the # and we are now loving the 4G-LTE speeds with Tmo which are MUCH faster than what we had with Straight Talk; another surprise considering ST is at&t MVNO, is 4G and already fast! Awesome overall.
