Quite Nice! The hole on the top??

Very cute and sturdy! I bought the cherry stool. The only issue I have with it is that there a hole in the middle/top/seat. I don't want insects (wasps, etc.) getting in making a home so I put clear tape over it. I didn't see this hole in the pictures online so I wasn't aware of it. I don't quite understand the purpose of it.
