EXCELLENT FOR HOME

For such a space saving heater, this works wonderfully! And the setting options and safety features are definately an added bonus. It is also quiet and the rotating feature can be turned on or off so you can concentrate the heat to a designated area / direction or let it disperse throughout the room. The air filter is wonderful if you have pets or allergies. Our living room / dining room and kitchen is a large open loft style and this heater warms and maintains the whole level. AND, it does not run up your electric bill like some heaters. Definately a great product!

Bought 5 this year and three broke

Hottest, out of 7 or 8 brands I've tried. Out of 5 I bought in the past year, two lasted a week, one 11 months ($19 to send it in for warrantee replacement), and two are still working fine after 7 months. I'll buy another brand from Walmart, so if it doesn't make it 90 days I can take it in for a refund. They are hot, and do the job, and run smooth and quite, but are flimsy and seem to be not made to last. I'll look for another brand at Walmart( with their great 90 day return policy) that has tip over protection, fan, digital thermostat, and oscillation and remote (my wife likes remote), and hopefully hot, and probably have spend over $75 to hope to get a decent one (not a Vornado, as the one I bought, and got another, both we're not very hot at all, only 125degrees at grill as opposed to Sunpentown's 200 degrees at grill. Hope my experience helps.

Come on Sunpentown, you can do better

Pros: --Lightweight --Somewhat quiet operation --Decent heat ouput --No weird smell from heating element (common in certain non-ceramic heaters) Cons: --Flimsy plastic body --Loses user settings after turning the power off, was unhappy about the accuracy of the temperature sensor in auto mode --A turn on timer would have been good. I feel cold during early morning hours. It mysteriously stops the heating clycle when it is the coldest! --No visible effect of using the integrated Ionizer

Great Heater!!

Bought his for my brothers area . Tried it out and it performs very well. Like how it rotates to warm the whole area. The timer works well and I liked the remote. The sensor on bottom for safety is a good feature. Also look forward to using the fan feature this summer so its a two in one.

Not enough heat was produced

I guess I expected this heater to give some relief to the chill in the room and it did not do what I was hoping for. The only place it really worked was in a small bathroom.

STINKS

IT smells like burning electronics, even after 2 weeks of use. Also it is quite noisy on start-up, moreso than the other two I have had for 2 years. It DOES warm the space, but the smell is killing us.

Quality Control Issues

I acquired this unit on October 16, 2009. It is used to heat a 13' X 13' X 8' SouthWest facing bedroom which has very little to no insulation. The oscillator function emits a grinding or guttering type noise, as the unit rotates, and therefore is quite noisy. Another disappointing thing is that this unit only "rotates" approximately 45 degrees from (facing front) center to right and back again. However, this heater does heat quite well.

Big improvement for 07!

The 1508 is 24 inches tall by 8 inches wide at the base, with a remote control that can be stored under smoked lift top of the heater. Remove the remote and you have your choice of identical controls either on the heater itself or on the remote. To start the heater you simply press the mater on off button on the base then use the control panel (either one) to turn the heater on, set mode, auto, low or high heat, automatic heat mode which lets you set the desired temperature to heat up too and when it reaches that temp (new for 07) it will turn off till temp drops three degrees then turn back on...the 06 model we had it lowered the temp but kept running...nice power saving move for 07. Oscillation is yet another feature that is a button push away working silently and effectively. Heat output is good but what makes it work so well with so little heat is the wide horizontal pattern (16 X 2.5 inches)with just the right amount of air pressure behind it, and will heat a 12 X 12 room fairly quickly, this can also depend on type and number of windows, insulation and ceiling height, for fastest heating you will want the oscillation feature off which is simple to do. The rule is use the heater without oscillation to heat the space initially then use the oscilation feature to maintain heat. Power Heat Use: Low-- 424 watts / 183 degrees High--1112 watts / 222 degrees Heat cast 34 inches Internal components are well laid out and thus far of good quality as the heater does its job with very low noise levels so sleeping in the same room with it is very do-able. The timer feature works well if you want it to work for a limited amount of time up to seven hours. Just hit Mode then Timer to set how long you want it to work and at the end it shuts off. Another neat habit it has is when it reaches the end of a heating cycle it gradually decreases the heat then turns off. Overall, this a very respectable heater priced between $69.00 to over $100.00 and has a good set of useable features that will get the job done without breaking the bank and leave you warm and happy you bought it. As always, Sunpentown service is just a call a way where you can talk to a real human in the US! The only drawback is that it is digitally controlled, so any time you shut the power off you will need to reset your settings, other than that a nice effective and efficient product. Also keep in mind, there are others that look identicle to this one but they are not made to the Sunpentown standard.

Good little heater

Even in the summer, with air conditioner running, I get cold coming out of the shower so I bought this heater. Although it's not as "friendly" as I expected, once you read the instructions that came with it, it works perfectly. It heats up the bathroom pretty quick, & in less than 10 minutes I am getting into the shower & after I'm done it's plenty toasty in the bathroom. So, as I figured out, it will work on cold days as I would expect, & on warm days when I have the a/c on. My wife & I always used a heater in Virginia, especially in the winter, so I bought this one here in ND as I am absolutely sure it will be needed in the winter & great for any day where it will be cool in the bathroom.
I got it and unpacked it and pluged it in and nothing happened it did not work
