Control gets very hot--cover does not.

Just received recently-- so still deciding but-- I got the beige color- fleece is thin but adequate if it continues to work [ read other reviews on that issue.] Issue #1 - throw ''says'' 3 heat levels -- mine seems to have only 1. = mildly warm-- but all over warm-- not just on spots so far. Issue #2 - the control lights up as 3 heat settings progress-- but limited heat- HOWEVER the control gets and stays --very-- warm. cord is about 6 feet long ! Issue #3 -- supposed to auto cut off at 3 hours-- mine does random auto cut offs from 1 to 2 hours max...not 3 yet. Issue #4 1 year warranty [ only 90 days to return to Walmart= SAVE THE RECEIPT] warranty requires you to pay shipping to a factory and wait for their decision-- which could take how long???/// I'm hopeful it will give me at least 1 winter season of use-- the next 6-7 months. I would not wash this throw-- looks too delicate to handle even a mild cycle and I assume the internal wiring won't work afterwards. The wiring is noticeable but not bad. Thicker fleece would hide that feel but at $19.96 [ 10-2016] you get this now a days. BTW it uses 115 watts at 110volts and lists MANY use restrictions in fine print of the '' limited'' warranty. Made in China FOR - ''JCS''=JARDEN CONSUMER SOLUTIONS but sold as Sunbeam/ Holmes Choice.....hmmmm. no warranty address given you must call 1-800-892-7684 for directions[ and then you arrange and pay shipping to them.] return shipping/ fees back to you? unknown. call. I'll give it a try but no recommendation now.

An affordable throw for TV watching in a chilly loft! Myself the dog and cat all cozy up and watch tv under the throw! See photo. I am very careful to unplug when I am done, it does have a three hour timer I believe. It is pretty simple-plug, remote , throw. 19.95 Minimal quality, serves its purpose. I bought it as the most reasonably priced with a brand name.

Bought this as a blankie for my shivering chihuahuas to lay on. They both really like it although to me it doesn't seem to get as warm as it should, even on high heat. Other reviews say control gets hot but mine is staying cool. It does seem to be warmer in some spots than others but for $20 it's a good buy. I may even get another for myself as the doggies have already claimed this one.

unbelieveable price--

In January 2018 I bought this throw for $19.99 . It lasted about 3 months then stopped working too late to return or exchange it. For warranty replacement the return postage I had to pay and the ''rules'' were outrageous. Now, the same exact throw - IN JUST 6 MONTHS- is priced from $32.00 to $60. 00 depending on the COLOR! Go figure how such a low quality product with a horrible customer service / return policy on a made in CHINA - super thin fabric throw has become so valuable to now cost twice as much! Go ahead-- buy one!

Great while it lasted

Bought one and it lasted a couple of months before it stopped heating and the remote started flashing, the second one we tried of the same type lasted about 2 weeks before it started flashing and not heating anymore. I don't know if it was just a bad batch of them or what.

I want another one!!

I purchased the blue plaid electric throw for my husband for Christmas. He has been anti-electric blankets for years, but I didn't like that he was cold while watching TV since we keep the thermostat low these days. He is now a believer. I came here today to order a second one but they are out of stock. I am very disappointed, and will keep my eyes open for them to be available again. The blanket is longer than any other throws we have had in the past so his toes stay warm too. It is pretty, it is soft, and it is WARM. I hope the stock is replenished soon so I can order another.

Better Value thro

I bought 2 different brands of electric throws from 2 big box stores. The Biddleford from Target had controller issues on day 2. With their recommendations, Biddleford, it would not continually work. So I tried to return it to Target, however, they needed one from the shelf for the bar code. None on the shelf, Target keeps low stock levels. However, the Walmart Sunbeam throw is working wonderfully. I actually bought another, since it works so well.

Works great

I actually purchased this blanket for our senior dog he has trouble holding his bowels overnight so we had to put him out in the laundry room in his kennel so that he is closer to the backyard where it's not as warm as the rest of the house it works great It came on immediately and stays on for three hours has an automatic shut off which is great for him so he doesn't get overheated. he loves it. we keep it on the low setting for right now until it gets colder outside but it works great.

Good value

This is a good value for the money (if you catch it at $20-$25). I've bought several of these over the years.. They're perfect to use with your normal bed covers to keep warm at night, and the material is very comfortable to snuggle in. The only reason I don't rate them a full five stars is because they only seem to last a year (really one winters use and then proper storage) before the heating system starts failing. Usually I can eek out a second season, but the heat isn't nearly as strong. After that they need replacing. But for $20 it's a decent lifespan.

So far, so good.

I like this blanket and have bought other Sunbeam blankets before. Unfortunately, all have started having problems in just a couple of years. The throws have problems with the controller overheating and shutting itself off. The full-size blankets just don't warm up after a time. I ended up putting a 40 year old Penney's blanket back on my bed because it is warmer on the lowest setting than the Sunbeam was on 'hi'.
