Wanted One Since I Was A Kid!!!

Was going to buy one of these at Bass Pro Shop, but the customer service was the worse ever! All my friends on Facebook recommended Wal-Mart? After reading some of the older reviews, I was a little nervous. But the more recent reviews were pretty positive. I placed my order and it was delivered (8/11/17) without any problems and I put it on Lake Natoma (8/12/17). All the kayakers loved the canopy idea. A family in a canoe said they were going to buy one. My only complaint (I knew before ordering) is the cup holders are very shallow and I only used them to hold a Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker. I've been wanting one of these pedal boats since I was a kid!!! I highly recommend getting one. I will eventually get a small anchor and a trolling motor (Christmas presents).

    Fun

I take it out on the ocean in the San Diego Bay. We have lots fun fun and great excerise with it. every thing works perfectly.
The rudder is horrible and it is almost impossible to steer. The rudder is rigged in such a way as to fold out of the way when you drag the boat on shore...which you must invariably do to drain the hull. Because of this design, the rudder is mostly just flopping around instead of being rigid enough to steer with. The steering lever is situated in the worst possible location and completely out of reach for any normal person sitting back in the seat. So you have to lean forward the whole time you're boating so that you can reach this lever - and you will need to reach it a lot! This thing tracks horribly and you must attempt to steer constantly! I say 'attempt' because the steering lever is very hard to turn and, because of the aforementioned flopping rudder, it doesn't turn, it doesn't turn, it doesn't turn, then suddenly it turns and OVERSTEERS. Then you are forced to try to quickly turn back the other way to get the boat to steer straight. Very frustrating. The Good: It's a boat and it floats.

    This is an old design

One of the funnest crafts I ever rode in, in 1975 when I was 11 at Camp Thunderbird @ Lake Wylie, S.C. If you're an old kid like me you'll understand the ins and outs of this 'limited' unit. If you couldn't swims, you had This. Perfect for those who just need to be a pad for others to climb on and maybe wait for the kids to come in from out there and be a buoy, Here you are. If you think for one second that you're going to go power riding invest a bit better. Be smart and maybe look for one at your local park pond and check its riding features. Don't disappoint yourself or your kids If you know what you're buying here, please disregard my review.

    paddle boat

I have owned this boat for many years now. (I think around 7). We live on Lake Superior and only take it out in small waves. The older grandchildren have great fun on this., (age 8 and over). It is easy for them to maneuver. The boat does take on water at the seams when it is left in the water in high waves, and the inside needs to be bailed out. We drag it up onto shore and use the drain plug to drain it (the bottom). It is very heavy when full of water (the hull), and takes at least two of us to pull it up. I did loose one seat backrest in a storm (maybe it wasn't securely in there). We do not use the canopy. The kids jump out of it in deep water, use it for fishing, or just a ride. I do take it out by myself (sit in the middle) so I can peddle both sides. Its not a wavy weather (white caps) boat, although I think it would make it. Highly recommended.
