Customer Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5★ by 1reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by A poignant telling of love and loss... The overview given elsewhere for this DVD is unfortunate. This story is about a young man who becomes smitten with an older woman, constantly finding reasons to try and help her, to talk to her, to be around her. More and more his heart is brought to the fore, beyond his unexpected desires, and he finds himself beginning to fall in love with her. On the night he goes to see her at her home to simply try and enjoy talking with her, he discovers something that changes everything; for himself, and for her. Ultimately, Summer of '42 has become one of the most iconic love stories ever told, deeply resonating in the hearts of an entire generation, and commonly so for anyone of any generation that sees it. It is haunting, it is beautiful, and is a movie I hope to one day own. 11/03/2012
