We used this pool for two summers about 4-5 months total and very infrequently. Initial set up was easy. It was a good size for my family including a 12 and 1 1/2 year old. BUT shortly after the pump started to go, the ring got a hole in it, then the side wall, then finally the bottom seam popped open. I called customer service and was told I needed a new liner because seams are not repairable, the cost would have been about $60 plus shipping. The pump was another $50. It was difficult to keep clean. Not sure if the pump was inadequate, the filters or chlorine tab or a combination of all. There are of course maintenance costs- filters, chemicals, vacuum, test kits etc. We decided to throw this one out instead of repairing and buy an Intex 14x42 ultra-frame pool for $200. My husband is picking it up right now. Hope this one lasts longer, if not I will not be wasting anymore money on these easy set pools

I don't understand the full negative reviews. This is a cheap pool. Like $59 cheap. You truly get what you pay for. With that said, here it goes. When I opened it, it looked okay. Got it pretty much full and that's when two leaks were noticed. One appeared towards the bottom, and one appeared at the top. I used that handy dandy patch kit they provide and voila problem solved. It took some maneuvering to block the holes from the inside because like heck was I going to drain it all the way to patch them. The pump is completely questionable on whether or not it really works. I run it anyway just because I like to believe it is doing something. Its decently sized. Certainly no ladder is needed to get in or out of this thing. Water in total comes to my knees. It may or may not make it next year when i put it up. That is a bridge I will cross when I come to it. You will need chlorine or shock tablets for this pool. After 2 days the algae was already forming on the bottom. Made for a slippery experience.

We actually bought this pool new in box off of a friend, only spent $40 on this and brand new cover for pool...decent size, fairly easy to maintain...easy setup...works wonderfully for 3 & 5 year old, they love it and because it's only 2.5ft deep, I don't worry too much about them when in it (obviously I still don't leave them unattended!) it's the perfect depth for putting lounge chair in also and tanning for me :) even great for a raft if you're on your own in there! All in all, for $40 this was such a good investment for the summer! But I think it still would've been worth it even at $80. If it lasts only one summer, it was cheap for fun times for the kids over the summer!

Good starter pool if your looking for the next step up from a large blow up pool. If you do not have a leveled yard, this is NOT a good pool for you. My yard is at a slight slant and pool wouldn't fill up evenly and kept flopping over and emptying the water. I had to level off the area and didn't want to spend too much money on this so I bought a tarp, wood chips and ply boards. I wish I had done more research before jumping to buy this for my 3 kids. It's a great price for the pool and my kids love it but you need to also buy a vacuum, a skimmer, pool cover, chemicals to treat the pool, and replacement filters. The filter (d size) it comes with isn't carried at my local Walmart so I can only order online. I have to change mine out every 2 weeks as it states in instructions. I don't know the first thing about maintaining a pool this size and thought it would be much easier than it actually is. My husband calls this pool a "money sinker". I'll be happy if it last us the entire summer for the price I paid ($79). If I had to do this again, I would defenetly buy a "set" that comes with everything in one box and spend a little more. "You get what you pay for!!" I have had it for a month now and it's very durable, no holes and made it through a bad hail storm.

Bought to replace the pool I LOVED (Intex oval for $300+) from last year. Landlord said we couldn't put up a big pool, so I thought for the $80 bucks, okay. Boy, was I wrong! First off, had to buy a tarp for ground cover ($20#, a cover for the pool #$20# and within a week, a new pump #$80) had to be purchased. Now, less than a month into it, the ring keeps deflating. I should have just kept the best pool I ever had rather than spending a fortune on a worthless pool. Don't waste your money!

This is the first summer we have used this pool. It is amazing. You definitely must ensure the area you place the pool is level. That was the hardest part for us. Once the ground was leveled, we laid the pool out, filled the air ring and started filling with water. (That took us 5-6 hours!) You will have to refill the air ring with air after a few weeks. As the air heats, the plastic will expand causing it to feel as though it is leaking air. Once you refill it, you should be set for the summer! When you set up the pump, make sure you have petroleum jelly to coat all of the rubber rings. The pump is a little less powerful than we would like. You must clean the filter every few days. We use a floating chlorine ring. We keep several tablets in it at all times and the water stays clear. We shock after rain storms. You do need to mix the shock powder with water before adding to the pool. It works much better. We did get a small pool ladder to enter and exit the pool. Tall adults can easily step in, but shorter folks like me and children can not. We also use a cover when not in use. (If you use a cover, fold back one small section in the mornings. This will let the gases from the chlorine escape and prevent cloudy water!) This pool is the perfect size for my three yr old. I can easily float around in a floating chair while he plays. My husband also enjoys getting in and floating around. We had a party and had five preteens in at once. They had a blast. I hope you enjoy your pool as much as we enjoy ours!!

No problems "yet"

Saw the other reviews on these pools so went with a smaller model, about 120 bucks spent for pool, extra filters, cleaning supplies, and a cover just in case it turned out to be a disaster. Hard to find the accessories online as most are sold out so ebay or amazon took care of it. Site to store option worked like a charm and the store had extra filters for this pool which apparently are hard to find. No problems with the setup, the pump is really the only thing you have to figure out by the picture directions they supplied you with but it was really no big deal. Blew up the outer ring no problem and filled the pool right up in 2 hours, make sure you find level ground or it will look dumb. Put a couple of chlorine tablets in the filter and let it run for a couple hours. Filter is nice and quiet and seems to be working. Perfect size pool to climb in to on a hot day, seems pretty solid, no holes, no leaks....."Yet". We shall see how the chemical up keep is over the next couple weeks and if this pool can continue to perform, but so far I am pleased with the product. Probably upgrade to the 18x48 next summer if all goes well.

We received this pool as a gift from family to escape the heat. I set the pool up as per the instructions and it filled up within a few hours. I also purchased a chemical starter kit to maintain the pool as we are on city water and 1480 gallons is $$$$. Well the kids enjoyed the pool for a couple of hours. The following morning I noticed it start to lean on one side. I went to work and when my wife and kids woke up it appeared that it dumped all the water out and only had about 3 inched remaining. Also the pump which sounds like it works dose not have enough lift to work as intended. Needless to say we packed it up the best we could and hope to get a refund. I think if you are looking for a small pool for the kids get one with a metal frame. Wish I would have read the reviews before unpacking. DO NOT BUY THIS POOL, WASTE OF $$$$

Throwing this away after this summer

The video is misleading. It took us several hours to get this pool blown up and then filled. Twice a big storm has come through during the night and I've woken up to find most of the water had dumped out. Wal-Mart does not carry the recommended filters. And there are other expenses that someone else has already mentioned. You need a cover (which our Wal-Mart does not carry), a vacuum, a skimmer, and a pool cleaning kit. By the time it's all done, you've spent way more than the initial $80.
