This is my second Straight Talk iPhone; it replaces an iPhone 5s whose battery was starting to fail. After determining the charge to replace the battery in the iPhone 5s, it made more financial sense just to purchase a new phone, and because it was on sale, that sealed the deal. On the positive side, (1) the 6 has a larger, more easily readable screen than the 5s (4.7" vs. 4") and has the option to display the text in bold for even easier readability. (2) Setup was fairly easy and almost completely automatic; place the two phones side by side, type in the serial numbers and a few more keystrokes (including passwords for e-mail accounts), and all settings, photos, data, etc., were transferred from the 5s to the 6. (3) Operation is simple and somewhat intuitive; for first-time users, however, you may wish to spend some time reviewing the manual that can be found on Apple's website, in addition to simply going through the phone's settings to tweak it the way you want it. (4) The cost was reasonable, so if you're looking for a low-priced entry-level Apple iPhone, it is certainly worth consideration. On the negative side, (1) it took maybe an hour to update the operating system, so be sure to allow plenty of time for this to be accomplished. (2) I have noticed that the iPhone 6 is slower and also has a shorter battery life than the iPhone 5s. This may be as a result of the widely-reported issue a while back, that the new software was causing the battery to run down faster than before, where Apple offered battery replacement for a reduced price. (3) But the biggest negative factor, in my opinion, is its inability to block my number when making outgoing calls, as I like to keep my number private to avoid spam and robocalls. Although this is a function of Straight Talk's service, because this phone will not work with any other carrier, I believe it is necessary to point this out in the event privacy is important to a potential purchaser. Incidentally, this issue was not disclosed anywhere, either in purchase of the phone or in transferring my old number to the new phone via Straight Talk. I submitted this issue to Apple's tech support and was informed that perhaps it may be addressed in a future software upgrade. If you are looking for a reasonably priced iPhone and blocking of your outgoing number is unimportant, then this is the phone for you. However, if privacy carries a higher priority, then you may wish to look elsewhere.
