    Great option for missions travel
How convenient to have rollers to manage the 50 pounds inside (allowed by airlines). Our items arrive in foreign countries in better condition and are more manageable when arriving in a third world airport location. What is even more great, is that this is such a wonderful gift to leave behind. The children's homes appreciate these footlockers to store the children's belongings, they are stackable and take up little space. These footlockers may have to be collected at a customs retaining area upon arrival in some countries, such as Venezuela. The downside is the latches aren't as durable as would be nice to have. The latches do not always withstand the intense handling and can be crushed, mishapened since the metal is not heavy duty quality. It is nice to be able to use a padlock after one's arrival.

Not as sturdy as I hoped
We bought these crates to use as luggage for some fragile items. Unfortunately two of the four that we bought didn't even survive a single flight intact. One cracked across the top and a latch broke on the other one. They are the perfect size for the airline, but other then that did not meet my expectations.

I just purchased my third set of Sterilite Footlockers. I've got two kids in college and these lockers are perfect. So easy to manuver down sidewalks and hallways with the built-in wheels. When closed, the lids have a good rimmed edge that allows you to grab hold, pick it up and carry it. You can easily stack one upon the other without worry of one sliding off. My kids have stood on them, used them for seating and stuffed them just short of bursting at the seams. For security, just add a pad lock. The first set is over three years old and has seen many moves from home to college, dorm to summer storage. The price can't be beat. Two lockers for the price you could have paid for just one.

    Awesome footlocker for camping

My oldest son is involved in scouting and used this for his week away at summer camp. Very durable and secure with a combination or padlock (not included). We know this was a two pack, but can use the second for storing camping gear that we have accumulated for our upcoming Cub Scout.

    Good value, lockable and stackable

I bought two of these lockers a couple years ago and was impressed with the build quality and durability. They stack well (I stack them four high) and you can put a lock on them (I don't require this but for future use, I may well desire to). Mine were basic black, which is fine -- these are not fashion accessories, they are for storage so color is unimportant to me. I'm tempted to stock up on more of them as I can always use more storage space, the only problem is that they take up a lot of space simply to store them empty. I found Walmart's prices very affordable as well. I bought six to add to the two I already own and the price of the additional lockers was enough to earn free shipping. They arrived undamaged at my front door. If you do not have a large vehicle, consider having them shipped to your home as they do NOT collapse nor do they fit inside one another for transport.

    Fantastic value!

We live overseas and have used these trunks as luggage. They are great for the invariable mixture of 'stuff' we're taking over with us: clothes, shoes, jars of peanut butter, cereal, special dog toys, etc... We put a luggage strap around the center (through the handle) because the trunk will gap a bit if it is stuffed full. Once overseas, the trunks are great for storage and dirt cheap compared to anything similar we can buy there.

    Sturdy

Those cheap plastic storage bins break down after a time but these are built to last and stackable. They carried them in the store for a short time then they did not, so I am buying them online. I plan on buying one a month tell I have enough for my needs

Good but should be better. NOT WATERTIGHT

These Footlockers (2 per set) are excellent for storage. No food, or perishables such as protien bars or meal replacements. As other reviewers stated, they ARE NOT WATERPROOF. Not even water resistant. I knew this when I bought them, as I'm using them to store equipment INDOORS, that are not affected by humidity or insects. I would not reccomend this as a footlocker for camp. The gap between the lid and locker is enough for ants, roaches, water, ect to get into. Clothes will mildue in this footlocker if it's stored in a damp basement. Running a dehumidifier will make a difference, but at $$ energy bills. I guess one could try and seal the lid's gap with a dense foam, but the hinge area would still be compromised. So why bother? It's great for heavy garage items, tools, paint, hobby equipment and the like. They stack great and the wheels are durable for smooth floors. Get my drift?

    serves the purpose

This serves the purpose for what I wanted but I was disappointed that when I went to the store to pick it up this color was not available in the store, even though it states on the web site that it is. As with all Sterilite products it is well made, my 4 star rating is due to the poor inventory by Walmart stating that they had the color that I wanted. I ended up with a black one, not very pretty but functional.

    Some good features...

...Price being one, this is good value for a two-set. The others are (1) they have wheels, and (2) can be secured with a standard padlock. There is a (slim) steel rod through the hinges which enhances security also. However, the plastic is not 100% rigid. A human with a box cutter could probably undo the security features. And, as another reviewer commented, the lid is not a watertight fit, something to think about if you are considering these for shipping containers. One other consideration is how much these will hold--not as much as if the sides were straight, instead of ridged, unless you pack with soft items like clothes and linens. Put them in plastic, if you do. Good price for a fair product.

    1. For normal rain yes.
    by memaw1107
    2. They do alright for dragging through rain for scout camping, but I don't use it outside so I can't say waterproof. I wouldn't submerge it with anything electronic in it, it does not have a gasket. But it will take some rain alright.
    by Momocracy
    3. no
    by Batwolf
    4. If you're not going to be dropping the footlocker in a body of water, they are water resistant. I had four strapped to my RV for months and none leaked. They withstood heat, hail, wind, and rain, but never leaked, cracked, or melted.

    5. Ugh....absolutely NOT !
    by HeyLookingForADeal
    6. Not waterproof but keep things dry when camping
    by ernurse73
    7. They can withstand a sprinkle of rain since the lid goes over the edge. There isnt a gasket so I wouldn't think a strong rain would be kept out. Not submerseable.
    by bon1963
    8. If by your question you mean if you submerge them in water will the contents stay dry...the answer is no. But if closed and sitting out in the rain I am pretty sure you would be okay. Not designed waterproof, but they are hard plastic and shut fairly tightly.
    by JustAMaverick1
    9. If by waterproof you mean you can submerge it -- no. If you mean if it were to rain down on it, would things inside stay dry, I would say yes.
    by Steve23185
    10. The handle and the clasps all pierce the shell, so while it can withstand a normal rain when sitting on its base, there may be a small incident of water gaining access. I would say it is a good water deterrent (especially for scouting, etc. But I would not store expensive equipment or valuable documents and think they won't get damaged in a downpour. For that level of protection, you need the cost of a pelican case or stage box.
    by ocoeeshopper
    11. They are heavy plastic-- I have toted them in rainy/wet conditions, and they seem like they would stand up to rain if using them for camping but as far as waterproof storage (as in flood areas or for outdoor storage) I wouldn't trust they would be completely waterproof.

    4. Yes, there are 2 of them in the box

    6. As of today, 07-22-2015 it is ONE for $19.86. Still a great deal!

    8. I had to take a screen shot of the above ad to show the store that it still says 2 pack. And I had to write the online store to complain about the false advertising on this page. I finally got 2 as I ordered for this price but I think in the future everyone should be aware that they do NOT mean 2 for this price. They need to amend their website and remove the "2 pack" part of the ad. The description later says it is not a multipack so it is a confusing product description page.

    9. Yes, so it's a great deal!! I've seen them sold individually in the store for about $20 bucks each-- still reasonable, but a pain to get out to the car...!! Worth the free shipping alone!!
    by jolari
    10. It arrives in one very large, sturdy box with the 2 containers inside.

    3. Yes,the standard combination lock can be used, but the lock will only face the side of the container and not the front like you would be able to do on a regular wall locker. You could probably use a cable lock and key, but you have to be mindful of the dimensions of the cable.
    by HeyLookingForADeal
    4. There is a hole in the center of the front for a lock. Keep in mind that any lock put here is just an inconvenience for someone trying to break inside. Any determined person would have no problem breaking in as it is a (sturdy) plastic trunk. But put simply... yes, one lock can be used.
    by Steve23185
    5. Yes, takes a standard padlock through the holes that line up in the center of the lid with the bottom part. You can see the hole in the product photo.
    by LeavingUSA
    6. yes
    by HairyHaggis
    7. You can put a padlock on it. There are holes to accommodate a lock
    by Tonya2345
    8. There is not a place for a lock, but you might be able to rig something if you are very clever...
    by jolari
    9. Yes. I have a key padlock on mine as that works out better than a combination lock because the padlocks face sideways. It's not convenient to have a combination lock when it doesn't face the front of the box. I may get a extra long padlock, as the standard size is somewhat of a tight fit. I use it for stuff I don't want my son to get into, such as Xmas and birthday gifts. Any adult would be able to break into it as the plastic is easily breakable if you really want to break in!
