I am 5'9 w/32"inseam, the bike fits comfortable and feels natural. The front and rear disc brakes are an excellent thing after you tune them. The alignment of the front forks doesn't look exactly right, but I'm planning to change the front fork anyway. The shifters are the twist version and they work, but the front derailleur is garbage. The rear derailleur is functional, but the front does not work at all under load. Ease up on the pedals and it will shift, but this makes the front gear change impossible on even a medium climb. Again, I planned to change the shifters and now, the front derailleur. The seat is ok, plastic molded form with some pad, handlebars are thin looking, but when I change the fork, I'll probably change those too. Honestly, for a little less cash, the taller guys will probably rather buy the Genesis Max Air. The shifters on that bike are incredible compared. For a guy who likes to tune and modify things, it's a Great bike, maybe not for the guy who wants to set it and forget it

great bike for the mechanically inclined

for me this is a great find. You really need to be fairly mechanically inclined to really appreciate this bike because it requires adjusting many of the moving parts because @ walmart's price you have to know there was not a lot of quality control reguarding assembly. I've owned mine for 3 month and have no reason to want anything different. I enjoy it very much though I don't do very much trail riding but when I do it's up to the task. Also it's a 24 speed, not 21. I bought mine completely assembled from the store which had 2 in stock. I proceeded to compare both and purchased the one that seemed to have the best assembly. If you're not up to the task of making proper adjustments on todays bikes you're better off going to a shop run by professionals, but be prepared to pay the price. by the way you will most likely need to go to a more comfortable seat I did.

Excellent Bike

I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my wife. One was pre-assembled and the other I assembled at home in just a few minutes. Unless you are mechanically inclined I suggest the first thing you do is take it to a bike shop and have it set up properly. I haven't ridden a bike in over 40 years but after tightening everything, including truing the front rim by reading about how to do it on you tube and tightening the spokes to make it straight I think we have two pretty good bikes. We have only put about 20 miles on them so far and have ordered a gel seat for my wife. The front derailleur is pretty flimsy which makes shifting difficult under load but that is a cheap item to replace with a quality component. I love the disc brakes and the 29" tires. I believe the frame to be very strong and I expect to spend a few dollars on upgrades in the future but for now we are riding and enjoying them. If you want an expensive bike that requires no maintenance, which I doubt exists, you should look elsewhere, but for the money this is a great bike that is worth upgrading some of the components. I would compare it to many of the $500-600 bikes I have seen in local bike shops.

Good bike for beginner trail rider

I bought this bike, intended for use on trails. I bought the bike pre-assembled off store floor. I knew it would need to be taken to a bike shop for minor adjustments. I had the shifters replaced. I also had them do an overall adjustment to the bike (brakes needed adjustment). In the end I paid $300 less than what the local bike shop was asking for a starter mountain bike. Performance: the bike holds up, I have no issues with the shifting or braking systems on rough terrain. I would recommend at least having a minor tuneup done at a local shop to make sure the assembly was done correctly and everything is in working order.
