Works for any pc or laptop this is an external component no system specific is required other than a usb port.

This is not a specific unit for a specific computer. As long as you have an available PCI and have the version of windows that it supports this card should work for you.

I think my Dell is older than your emachine so all things being equal it should work. Walmart has a great refund policy if it doesn't. You have to have an open slot and disable your old Network card in System/Device Manager, so your computer won't get confused between the two.

I installed it in a Dell 280 gx the compact model. I can't see why not. It contains the regular and the low profile tabs

You really need to know if the teeth/connectors will plug in to motherboard port for this part, I know you also need to know compatability/ mine is a E machine, dont know the mod type,
but I am running XP and I just pulled my old network card out, checked the teeth/connectors, I needed three separate teeth and this one had them, so I ordered and installed with ease and it was simple set up and now I am running once more.

This card goes into a PCI slot in the computer. You will need to check the specs on your PC to see if it has any free PCI slots. If so, then it'll take 5 minutes to install and you'll be good to go.

As long as you have an open standard expansion slot, you should be fine. If it doesn't fit, you can always return it to your local Walmart store with no hassle.

What you need to know is if the plug/Teeth/connectors on the card will work in the motherboard port, I have an e machine don't know the model, but It worked for mine. Was simple.

I looked at the specs for that computer and didn&#39;t find out how many PCI slots are available. However, if there is a spare PCI slot available on the motherboard, then the StarTech NIC should work. The cd that comes with the NIC includes a multitude of drivers for various operation systems.

I have this installed in an 2005 Compaq and a Dell desktop. It uses a standard expansion slot and works great.

I am running Win XP 32 bit and compaq/Gateway E machine computer and it fit in and is running great, was easy to install and simple to use, best buy I ever made.

If you have a spare PCI slot, it should fit. NIC comes with a low profile bracket.

Replaced old slow LAN on my ancient Dell. Comes with Driver CD but no instructions, leaves you to figure out what driver it is. You will find it in the ExpressCard\RTL81XXX\WINXP folder. Downloads and updates are so much faster now with this product.

I main complaint is the amount of time it took to get here.

My tracking showed item had been sent, and when it arrived at walmart distribution center in Sutherland VA, and it took 4 days to make the 60 mile trip from there, to my store...thats terrible !
USPS is faster than that !

Anyone could install this network card, and it was as easy as plug in to motherboard port, hook everything back up, and wow were up and running again!

Onboard Ethernet went out on my motherboard. This was a quick, cheap replacement for it. Plug in, update drivers and it was good to go.

I needed a cheap replacement network card for my Linux box after a lightning storm fried my on board network adapter. Worked perfectly. It's not a gigabit, but since it's just for my internet connection, that's not a big deal.

This is your standard, good old fashioned pci ethernet card. It will get you up to a 100 mbps but not 1000. I doubt if you can get that kind of speed on a standard pci bus. For that you have to go to pci express. I know because I have both kinds. I guess they figure they have to say 1000 to sell it nowadays. Not necessary. If you have an old computer, this card will work just fine and is good value for the money.
