This book was so well written it really made us take a look at our lives and put them in perspective. Just goes to show we can accomplish anything we put our minds too! Amazing Story!

Highly Recommended

This is an excellent story that touches on history, family, hope and perseverance against long odds. It is the story of one family's experiences in Viet Nam and upon relocating to the US, but has universal application to people around the world. Great work by two former Walmart associates!

Perfect title. It sums the book up well.

This book is about hope when there is non to be found, except within yourself. It's about moving forward when you don't think you can. It's about hard times, tough choices and never giving up. Thuhang's hope, drive and determination are felt throughout the book. She and her family are a true inspiration. She never gave up and has taught me that I still have so much more within me than I thought I had left. I have hope again and renewed belief in my own potential. To quote Thuhang, "if it is to be, it is up to me." Wow! Time for me to get started! Thank you Thuhang, Chinh and family, for sharing your story. If you know someone who needs inspiration in their life, this is the book for them. You will have new found hope and strength to keep moving forward. AMAZING BOOK!

Buy it. Read it. Share it. You won't regret it.

What an inspiring true story told from the eyes of both a brave and persevering child and her loving and courageous father. Rarely as an American have I had the opportunity to learn about the Vietnam war and aftermath from those in South Vietnam who were so desperately fighting for their beloved country. The story continues with a truly inspiring tale of the ultimate American Dream and what can be accomplished through a hard work ethic, modern medicine, faith, and a love for family. This book will inspire you to examine your own choices and how you choose to treat others that may br different from you. I am usually a pretty slow reader, but I could not put this one down. I hope someone snatches up the movie rights to this one quickly, because it would make an outstanding film. For anyone that ever saw Disney's ‘The Girl Who Spelled Freedom' I would say this an even better story. Buy it. Read it. Share it. You wont regret it.

I couldn't put the book down! As I read this story, I felt so clearly so many emotions, chapter after chapter. The power of hope, determination, perseverance, family, community, and giving back. Absolutely brilliant!!
