I am a natural lightest auburn color. Color is weird with my hair and I usually buy light caramel brown so Im not like a copper penny. Bought a different brand tonight and it came out almost black. My skin is so pale, I looked sick. Total panic as I have a job interview tomorrow!!!!! Read reviews, ran to Walmart and bought. Only took about 15 minutes and I rinsed, shampooed, rinsed, shampooed, rinsed and shampooed one more time per instructions. Im now a strawberry blonde which is WAY fine for me considering what it was. Smells bad and still smells bad after all the shampooing. I have very thick, very course and very curly dry hair. Ive put leave in conditioner in along with regular conditioner. I wont re color right away though as I dont want to damage my hair, but thank gosh for this product because I couldnt have gone to that interview let alone outside in public with that dark horrible color.

I have always colored with golden blonde shades, but today I decided to go bold with a color called Deep Copper by Feria. It was more Oompah Loompah and I hated it. After much searching online, I stumbled across this product and it got me back to my original Blondie-locks. One cool side effect, too. My roots had grown out about an inch, so they were considerably darker than the rest. After using Color Oops, my roots are now the same blonde shade as the rest of my hair. The smell didn't really bother me. It's no worse than those old school perms from back in the 80s. It does linger, however. I am extremely happy with this product and I will definitely keep it on hand so that if I ever decide to go crazy again....

I was tired of my black hair and decided to read the reviews and I thought , why not to try and see if it work?! The result was impressive, it took less than 25 minutes and my hair was just beautiful. No damage at all as you can see my pictures. I took the pic with flash so you can see how black it was and after the remover. The color was uniform and i love it but I did dye my hair red afterwards and got the exactly color I wanted. I'm going back to walmart tomorrow to get some more just in case I need again :) 06/09/16

I died my hair purple & after a couple weeks I decided I didn't want it anymore. I tried to change it with a different color but that didn't work (which I had a feeling it wasn't going to) I found this product & decided to try it.. It clearly states it do not work on purple, blue & red hair well it worked on mine. I posted what my hair looked like before Oops & right after Oops. The only thing was it smelt so horrible. We did it outside on our deck. You could smell it up to 20 ft away.

I went to walmart today and picked up two bottles of the color oops. My hair was a bright red. I first used vidal sassoon 5v and didnt like it so i went brighter. I used the color 5vvr clairol flare permanent dye, wasn't happy with that either! My hair was dyed for about 5 days before using color oops. My hair before dying was like a walnut brown. I followed the directions in the box to the T, dye was really watery and I used both boxes for my hair, I have long and thick hair. I used tresseme shampoo mixed with dawn dish soap to help fade the color. After about 25 min of rinsing and shampooing my hair was as good as it was gonna get. It turned to this orangish blonde color. I was not happy with that so I went and got a light brown dye to fix it. My hair has a slight red tint after recoloring, but it's MUCH better. Did color oops do exactly as I'd hoped....no! But it did strip almost all of the color. Also my hair is a tad damaged from all the dye so I suggest using leave in conditioner and a coconut oil hair mask. Like others said the smell is AWEFUL!!! Smells nothing like box dye!! it smells like rotted eggs mixed with lemon juice. The smell also stays in ur hair no matter how much u wash it. The before pic is with the first box dye. I didn't take a pic after using the second red which was about 3 shaded brighter.

    • A. I'm mainly writing to correct another answer to this question. The answer stated "Color oops is mainly for removing wild colors (purple, pink, red, yellow, etc) kids today streak their hair." However, if you read the directions it explicitly states Color Oops "is not designed for and will not perform on direct color dyes such as bright pinks, blues, greens, lavenders, purples, etc." (direct quote). It's really used to reverse the effects of relatively recent color deposits of more "natural" colors. If you bleached, then colored your hair, Color Oops will NOT return your hair to its natural color since it has previously been lightened. It will simply remove the pigment you put over the lightened hair. However, if you dyed your hair a couple times over your natural color, this will substantially aid you in your goal of getting your natural color back. For me, I had dyed my hair dark brown (almost black) three or so times over my natural color (light/medium brown), and this practically restored my natural color (the ONLY difference was that it was slightly brassier than my natural color, which is easily correctable with a good toner). The directions caution that this product should not be expected to return your hair to its natural color, so don't set your expectations too high. That said, for me it worked extraordinarily well and almost brought my hair back to its natural state.

    • A. No. Depending on the color of your now, color oops will only remove the last color you dyed your hair. Color oops is mainly for removing wild colors (purple, pink, red, yellow, etc) kids today streak their hair. The best way to go back to your natural hair color is to have your hair highlighted underneath and then the outer layer in a color close to what you want, then let your natural hair grow out. Hope this helps.

    • A. It got a lot of the dye color out but did not take it back to the color it was before - I maybe could have rinsed more but ran out of hot water - I was happy with the results though

    • A. If you dyed your hair from natural color, then yes. But if you had color on your hair before you dyed it black, it will take your hair back to that color. whatever color your hair was prior, it will bring that color back.

    • A. Technically no it wont but it will make it close to your natural hair color... Unless your hair is dyed black then it will turn an orangish red color but its easy to dye over with a color close to your natural.. Hope i helped... =)

Can I use this product (Oops) if I used the L'oreal Hair dye remover 1 month ago? I am natural blond and had dyed my hair black so I used the L'oreal hair dye remover 1 month ago and my hair is now redish brownish. Is it safe to use Oops now? I know it will not turn all the way blond. And what kind of hair dye should I use after I used Oops?

    • A. You cannot lighten hair from a dark color to blonde. The best way is to have your hair highlighted back to blonde to insure all of the red and orange tones are removed or you will probably turn out a brighter orange. Call a good salon and ask or go by there so they can see you hair. Hope this helps. There is no easy solution once you have colored black.

    • A. You can use the Color Oops because it has no bleach or ammonia in it. It will take you back to blonde. If your hair is long use two boxes. You can use any hair dye after. I'd use a gentle dye, or maybe a demi color? Anyway, I love this product and have used it over a dozen times.

    • A. I am not a professional but I had a hair disaster and it was bright fire red and I used the color Oops twice in a row. first night 2 boxes since my hair is so thick then next night another box which got pretty much all the red, then I put Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Permanent LB2 and it turned my hair a beautiful blonde color. have used every blonde hair color imagineable and I got best results with this. it lightens your hair without bleach which is better in the long run health of your hair. so I think since it has been awhile since you have put anything on your hair you should be fine with putting Oops on your hair, color Oops is safe where you can color right after. hope this was a help
